"What about that "hand you're given" thing?! We already have two! And what's it mean to "conduct yourself honorably" anyway? And why was that old hag praying for our safety?!"
Wow... He's... Really dense.
I didn't expect much, but this is something totally different.
Tanjiro sped up, Inosuke taking it as a race.
"W-Wait for us, you two!"
Zenitsu whined, and I just laugh.
"Let's show them who's faster! Zenitsu, grab on tight!"
I open my glider and lift us both off of the ground, Zenitsu screaming in absolute terror.
"Y/N, WE'RE FLYING!! IF YOU DROP ME NOW I'M GONNA DIE! PLEASE DON'T DROP ME, Y/N! I'M SORRY FOR ALL THE TIMES I CLUNG TO YOU JUST PLEASE-!"
"I won't drop you, idiot! We'll catch up easy this way! Just hold on, got it?!"
I laugh, and we all make our way towards our new mission.
Once we reached the mountain, I land on the ground with Zenitsu, who cowered behind me.
Zenitsu dropped on the ground, cradling himself.
"I'm nervous! I'm not going in there! You can't tell me you don't get any spooky vibes from that mountain!"
I turn around and stare for a while, just extending my arm as I can feel the most gentle breeze slip past.
"The air is cold and wet. Nothing about this place seems friendly."
I comment, shivering at the strange and eerie sensation.
"You're not wrong, but even so, we can't just wait here."
"I told you this guy's an odd duck."
Inosuke added.
"I AM NOT AN ODD DUCK! I'M COMPLETELY NORMAL! IT'S YOU TWO THAT ARE WEIRD! EVEN Y/N AGREES SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH THAT MOUNTAIN!"
I sigh and go over to pat Zenitsu's back.
"C'mon, Zenitsu. There's four of us, and if you're that scared, I'll let you hold onto me, ok?"
"Why are you being like that with him? You're both weird."
"At least I can spell my own name!"
Zenitsu shouts, and I just pat his head.
"Calm down, Zenitsu. What do we do when we're scared?"
I coo to him like a child, hoping I could calm him down.
"We pack our things and run away before we die?"
He sniffled, already crying.
"No. We take a few deep breaths and realize we're not alone. Do you need a hug, too?"
I offer, and he nods, huddling close as I pat his back.
"What the hell are you doing, woman?"
"What, you're scared and need a hug too, Inosuke~? No need to be embarrassed if you do!"
"Tsk! Hell no! Just get this over with!"
My eyes notice Tanjiro's expression drastically shift, and he looks around, most likely to locate the scent.
