She picked a shampoo off the rack. One glance at the name, she turned it to have a read at the ingredients. Most of the ingredients reminded her of chemistry and she couldn't be more glad that she was a science student.

She felt a slight push on her arm, looking up, she turned her head to her friend standing by her side. For a reason she was yet to know, she noticed her eyes were lowered as she pretended to stare at something else on the rack.

"3 O'clock." She stated without looking up to her.

"What?"

Her friend looked up to her. A silly and yet simple smile played on her face.

"Two guys are staring our way."

The teenage girl holding the shampoo furrowed her brows a little in disbelief.

"Lizzy I'm serious." Her friend was quick to respond to her expression.

"One of them has seriously been checking you out. I think he wants to talk to you."

Lizzy drew in a deep and yet silent breath as she looked away from her friend, returning the shampoo in her hand to its earlier spot.

"Just ignore them. Don't stare."

"But he's cute though."

"Rachel," Lizzy called as she grasped onto her friend's arm and led her a little further from their earlier position. Once more, Lizzy reached out to another brand of shampoo. She was yet to find the one that best suits her afro hair. She wanted something effective and a little low on the expenses.

"Also, he looks loaded," Rachel added, another attempt at piquing her friend's interest in the two young boys that wouldn't stop staring. Their attempt at making the obvious less obvious was impossible. One stared the most and the other simply said a few words to him as he takes interval glances.

"What are you going to do if he walks over?" Rachel threw the question, a little upset that her friend was being reluctant about the fact that someone of the opposite sex was interested in her.

"Simple. I'm not interested."

"Ah," Rachel exclaimed, her expression sour at her friend's nonchalant attitude.

"If only I had half of your pretty face and perfect curves then maybe I could have him to myself."

Lizzy gave her friend an annoyed look.

"Look Rachel, I'm not here for whatever you're trying to push forward. Let's simply get what we're here for and leave." Lizzy stated her piece and looked away.

"He's coming."

"What?"

They froze for a moment in a slight panic before the two boys were in front of them.

"Hi." The first guy greeted displaying a slightly shy smile and yet, a sense of courageousness. For the first few seconds, Lizzy couldn't help scanning her gaze over him. He wore a simple black jogger, a grey T-shirt and a fancy slippers. Overall, he was okay.

Strangely, both girls replied their hellos in unison that they ended up glancing at each other. First look and Lizzy had to admit to herself that Rachel was right about him being a good sight to behold but... she knew exactly what her replies should be.

"I'm Kenny and he's Tolu." He introduced.

"Hi." Tolu by his side greeted as well.

"You are... "

"Rachel." Rachel was quick to intervene with a smile on her face so much that her friend believed she was being a little too much.

"And she's Lizzy. Elizabeth in full."

Wow, Rachel.

Lizzy couldn't help mentally shaking her head at her friend.

"Lizzy." He repeated as if testing out the pronunciation with his voice. Quite immediately, a brief wide smile drew on his face and Lizzy couldn't help raising an eyebrow as she noticed a dimple in his cheeks.

Okay... Okay... Okay.

She sang in her head as if nodding in approval. She had to admit, he had piqued her interest but... there was still a but.

"So... can I get your number?"

She raised an eyebrow once more at his direct question. To be truthful, he wasn't the first guy to ask her for her contact number and he wasn't going to be the first to be told off by her but for some reason, the innocent look in his eyes, his subtle and yet charming baritone voice still grooming into full manhood and then those dimples... those dimples, she was a sucker for them.

Other factors were a NO on her man list. He was a little on the lighter side when it comes to skin complexion and his height was barely an inch away from hers. She preferred them taller with skin like chocolate. Yes, she was a tad picky but she also didn't believe she was asking for much.

The young boy bit his lower lip as he momentary lowered his eyes away from her. He was nervous and Lizzy took notice of that. She found it cute. The longer she stared at him, the more she tried to fish out more about him. Yes, his exterior was in clean shape but something about him felt a tad mysterious.

Should she give in this once? Should she disregard judging a book by its cover?

Lizzy felt a light arm push from Rachel and she couldn't help sparing her a glance. Lizzy drew in a deep breath.

"Is this your first time asking a girl you just saw for the first time out?" Her question came out a little puzzling even for her. On his face, she watched the surprise expression play out and then a possible relief.

In a light chuckle, he replied. "Yes."

Lizzy nodded in understanding.

"Yes." She stated as she stretched out her hand to him.

He looked from her to her hand and back to her with a questioning look. "W-what?"

"Your phone. You asked for my number, didn't you?" She was quick to respond

"Yes but... really?" He asked quite surprised that she was giving in.

Lizzy nodded and his friend pulled at his arm as if prompting him not to waste any more time. Kenny was quick to get his phone out of his pocket and handed over his phone to her. One look at it, she recognised the familiar brand of Samsung S7 edge and right away imputed her number.

"Lizzy." He rehearsed one last time before he named the contact and soon set the phone back into his pocket, smiling at her as he did. His dimples showed a little clearer and she couldn't help smiling back.

"I'll be sure to call." He stated and she gave a slight nod.

"Bye." He put in, she nodded once more and watched as he turned away, leaving the supermarket alongside his friend.

As she returned to what she had been doing, she felt a burning gaze on her. Deliberately, she drifted her eyes to her friend who stared at her intensely.

"What? It's just a few numbers. It's not like I'm going to date him." Lizzy defended.

"Simple. I'm not interested. " Rachel mimicked Lizzy's earlier words and Lizzy rolled her eyes at her. Finally, she picked the shampoo off the rack and headed towards the counter.

"This girl ehn, you have wahala," Rachel added before catching up to her friend.
