Hey, this is my first actual book meaning that it won't be perfect or the best, but I'm going to try my best! Everything in this story belongs to me because this story is my original story. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but please refrain from any cussing in the comments. I will try my best to make sure everything is done correctly, but if you notice something is wrong grammatically or spelling wise feel free to tell me. I will also be switching between all of the main character's POVs from chapter to chapter, and italicized words will always be the person's thoughts. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this and happy reading.

A dark figure crept down the hallway's being careful not to make a sound. He froze where he was when he heard the guards passing by as they changed shifts. Once the guards had passed him, he let out the breath was holding and continued on his way to the royal stables. He then expertly snuck in without detection and went to a horse named Onyx. Onyx neighed with delight when he saw him. He quietly shushed the horse as he stroked his muzzle. He carefully and expertly saddled him up and put Onyx's lead on him, and guided him outside. Once they were out of the stables, he swung himself up onto Onyx, adjusting his bag as he did so.
Onyx rode off at high speed towards the Dead Woods. The sun had barely started to rise by the time he reached the woods. He had needed to clear his head with all of the changes that had been happening. How am I supposed to rule the Kingdom?! I'm awful at socializing with my family! How am I supposed to be able to talk to the people of the Kingdom?! He was getting anxiety just thinking about it. Terrible social skills aside, Owen was scared he would mess up or worse.
Owen's full name was Owen Charles Tristian Spades the 3rd but went by Owen or Charlie for short. Owen had never been big on ruling the Kingdom. Owen would rather be somewhere reading a book or out in nature. Because he will be the future ruler of the Kingdom of Spades, his parents, the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Spades, and the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Hearts had decided that their children and future rulers should be acquainted with each other.
Owen wasn't sure how he should feel about it. He wasn't exactly excited to have to go and meet someone new. Owen enjoyed being out in nature, away from others. Owen's parents had been urging him to socialize more by sending him on errands around the Kingdom. He knew his parents loved him, but he felt abandoned because they were always busy with other things. He knew that as much as they wished they could spend time with him, they just didn't have time to spare.
Owen pulled Onyx to a stop as they came up to a small clearing. The small clearing was the place Owen went to when he went out into the woods. It was like his place of sanctuary. It was free from all of his stresses, worries, and problems. It was a place he could just relax.
Owen dismounted Onyx and gave him an apple from his bag. Owen decided to lay on the ground and just listen to the sounds of nature. As he layed there, he felt his nerves melt away. Owen laid there for what felt like hours but was only probably an hour at most before Owen heard the sound of footsteps. He slowly opened his eyes and looked towards the area he had detected the footsteps emanating from and, off to his side, stood his mother. Owen sat up and gave her a confused look. Though he wasn't upset to see her, he wasn't quite sure why she was there.
"Hello, mother. It's not that I don't love your company, but what are you doing out here?" Own asked.
"Well, you see your father and, I know that you aren't eager to be ruling the Kingdom, but we think that it could be a splendid opportunity to meet someone around your own age who is also going to be a ruler one day. We also think that you might be able to make a friend. They arrived late yesterday, and you are to meet him in half an hour." she said.
Owen looked down at the word friend. He had never had a friend besides his sister Eve, but they had drifted apart over the past couple of years. Owen looked up and stared into his mother's eyes. They held a look of pleading and caring.
"I will try, but can I think things over for a couple of minutes?" Owen asked.
"Of course," she replied.
As his mother walked away, he felt an overwhelming feeling of exhaustion wash over him. He sat down and leaned against a tree. How am I supposed to make a friend with a stranger!? Of course, that's why we're meeting is so that we aren't strangers to each other, but still! I better get going so that I'm not late, and have time to get ready.
The Kingdom of Spades was about ten minutes away from the Dead Woods, so if he hurried, Owen would have plenty of extra time to himself at the Castle.
Owen mounted Onyx and started on the long trek back home. He had realized that it would take him longer than expected to get back home because of how deep in the woods he was plus how long he spent thinking. Owen urged Onyx into a gallop. The scenery whizzed by him.
He heard a noise and quickly pulled Onyx's reins, and as he tried to pull him to a stop as a mysterious figure came out of the bushes, right in front of his path.
---------------------------------------------
So how was it? Was it any good? Who or what do you think the mysterious figure is, and will Owen make it back in time, and will Owen run over the mysterious figure?! Comment what you think, or don't it's really up to you.😊You can also comment on who you think the next chapter's POV will be from Spades ♠️, Diamonds♦️, Hearts♥️, or Clubs♣️ (I will refer to the characters by their last names, which are their Kingdoms because I'm unoriginal).
Anyways, I already have a plan for chapter 2, and I'm currently working on it! I also plan on making the chapters longer!
Until next time my shining stars!
