A new Samsung phone. A new model phone from Samsung. She knows how expensive the phone is.

What made Demilade buy a new phone that was so expensive? A simple Tecno phone would have been better. But he chooses to buy a Samsung product. She don't know if she was to accept this from him. She can still remember what happened the last time she returned something he bought for her. To her, this is very expensive and might be considered a waste of money but to him, it's nothing. It meant nothing to him.

But she still needs to know why he bought a new phone for her. Her phone still seems okay except for the little problem caused by the broken screen affecting its touchpad.

After they had dressed and were about to leave, she decided to ask Demilade about it.

"Demilade." She called.

"Yes?" He asked.

"I appreciate it.... what you bought for me. But you shouldn't have to buy something so expensive. You know I don't like..."

"Charity." He completed and he looks at her. "I like the fact that you love to get what you deserve by working for it. I do because I do the same. But having a little help won't hurt. You are always struggling with your phone. And you can't buy another one because you can't afford one yet. It's not a big deal if I could help get you one. It takes nothing from me. And If I was to get something for someone, I will get what I will get for myself for the said person. That is me. So Tiwalola you ought to learn how to accept gifts. Expensive or not. It's yours. Accept it." He advised her.

She nodded slowly." I will. Thank you for the phone. I'm grateful." She said.

She knew he was right. She doesn't have the money to get a new phone and she won't ask for help. She had bought the current phone she was using with her savings and additional money from her dad. And she had been using the phone for four years. The new phone might mean less to him but it was a lot to her. So she was grateful.

"Stop being dramatic and let's go." He said. He knew she will tear up and it might ruin her makeup so he quickly wave it off and walked outside with the little bag in his hand.

"We are here sir." One of his bodyguards that drove said. Demilade looked up from his tablet.

Lola was busy staring out of the window. She was seeing a lot of reporters, rich men and women in expensive dresses. She noticed a few of the people in attendance as celebrities, politicians and ministers. She was about to be calling the names of some celebrities but she looked at Demilade and saw the frown on his face. She don't want to get him angrier than he was. So she reserved the comments to herself and she enjoyed the view alone.

And it surprised her to see all those people and also know that they are those whom Demilade associated himself with. His money had brought him this far. She was sitting with a man with a lot of influence. Now she knows why he came with his part-time bodyguards.

"There seem to be a lot of reporters, sir." The guy sitting close to the driver said. He was looking out through the window in his black-shade glasses.

"They surely will be." Demilade groaned. He picked up his phone and called someone. The receiver picked up almost immediately. "Hello, Uche. Sorry to disturb your weekend....... I need you to contact the head of the journalist. I don't want silly reports about me in the papers tomorrow. Aside from me attending the party, no unnecessary talk about the woman with me or whom I am talking with. Let him know that..... Okay. Thank you." He ended the call.
