2 ~ Warmth

Warmth. So much warmth. It was so hot and I didn't know why. I moved to try and kick some of the covers off and I noticed the weight behind me. Draco...
The memories of last night came flooding back and I couldn't help but smile. It was absolutely amazing. I sighed in content when I felt Draco start to stir behind me.
"Good morning love," he wrapped his arms tighter around my waist and nuzzled his nose into the crook of my neck, kissing the skin softly. His plump lips and hot breath sent tingles down my neck causing me to shiver.

I gasped for air as I sat up in my bed. I grasped my sheets as they clung to my legs that were coated in a thin sheen of sweat. I took a deep breath to process the dream again before tossing my legs off the side of my bed to sit upright. I rubbed my eyes and pushed the loose hairs that framed my face back toward my messy bun that my hair was thrown up into the night before.
I had only been back to Hogwarts a week and my dreams were plagued with a distant memory of Draco Malfoy. It had been over a year since that fateful night at the Yule ball and here I was, back at this castle that I dreaded, cursing my parents for wanting to help in the manhunt for You-Know-Who. I really couldn't be mad at them because I know they were fighting for the good of the wizarding world but I still couldn't help but feel resentful.
It was early morning hours and I could hear the birds chirping as the day officially started. I glanced over at my roommate to see her snoozing peacefully.

Alyssa Crook was one of the sweetest girls I had met so far at Hogwarts. She was a petite brunette with freckles that dotted her cheeks and a pleasant aura that surrounded her all together. She radiated Hufflepuff vibes but preferred the grunge aesthetic so I throughly enjoyed seeing her flaunt her tattered fishnets and cropped sweaters to fit her aesthetic that contrasted her personality and house so much. Alyssa was also one of the first and only morphmagus I had ever met, and she switched up her hair color frequently, which I thought was adorable. She was the closest thing I had to a best friend at Hogwarts since most of my friends were back in France.

I took in a long deep breath and let out a huff as I thought about my class schedule today. Divination, Herbology, Care for Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, and lastly Potions, which was actually my favorite class so I was thankful that my day at least ended on a high note.

I made my way to the mirror to see what sort of mess I was working with today. A pale freckled face stared back at me. My curly hair was tangled into a bun on my head and frizzy ringlets framed my face. Truly dreadful. I pulled it down and dampened it to maintain the curls and kill the frizz with some products. I applied light foundation and concealer to my eyes in hopes to hide my lack of sleep but there wasn't much saving it. Mascara and blush to finish and I looked sort of like my old self. I wasn't by far the prettiest girl ever but I wasn't dreadful looking which is always a plus. I got dressed, clad in the black and yellow of my house colors I grabbed my bag and headed towards breakfast and hoped today would be a good day.

My classes droned on and finally lunch had arrived. I sat down with at the Hufflepuff table next to Alyssa and started filling my plate.
"How's your day been?" She turned to me with a huge smile plastered on her face.
"It's good. Your day seems to be more cheerful than mine tho." I let out a light laugh as her smile somehow got bigger.
"I got to talk to Cedric today! He's so handsome." She giggled to herself as a blush painted her freckled cheeks.
"Remind me who that is again? The name sounds familiar.."
"Cedric Diggory?! He was the Hufflepuff representative for the Triwizard Tournament when you were here last. He almost died! Don't you remember?"
I remembered the final task in the maze and the sudden flash of light. The port key and the winners appeared and in the middle of the group was Harry Potter and an unconscious Cedric Diggory. Everyone had thought he had died but Harry later explained he was barely able to deflect the killing curse and Cedric just fainted from fear. With two witnesses to confirm the resurrection of Voldemort, the world twisted into chaos.
Part of me always knew I would have to come back to Hogwarts but I kind of hoped it would be for something less ominous, unlike the impending threat of death.
"Oh yeah, Cedric. I haven't heard that name in forever. How is he doing by the way?" I tried to focus on her answer but I had the itching feeling someone was staring at me.
I glanced up only to see silver eyes staring back at me from the slytherin table. My breath caught in my throat and my thoughts flashed back to that night. I quickly looked away and crossed my legs in hopes the throbbing between my thighs would subside but I knew there would never be any relief.

"Hey it's been good talking to you guys but I'm gonna head to class okay? I gotta do.. some things.. yeah.. okay bye." I shook my head, scoffing to myself at how bloody suspicious that sounded. I couldn't help that my mind drifted to the attractive blonde.
I sat down in muggle studies and attempted to focus but couldn't.

I leaned with my palm to my cheek, completely zoning out as the teacher droned on about the internet. It was a guilty pleasure for sure but I let my mind wander. If I really thought hard enough I could feel the ghostly touches in remembrance of that night. It set me on fire and I loathed the boy and how he did this to me without even knowing anymore.

"Mrs. Blossom, what is the thing that muggles rely on the most for information?"

"Uhh," I jolted back to reality, "the internet? Computer?" I was unsure but heard the words in the lesson for a split second.

"Both are Correct. But pay attention please. The internet-"

I let out a breath I didn't know I was hold and made a vow to myself to stop thinking about Draco Malfoy. It would be difficult but I have to get my head on straight.

Class ended and I was just thankful that my day was almost over and my favorite class was next. I couldn't help but smile as I headed to Hager's Hut.
