"Steven, sweetie.. please calm down. William here is-"
"No he isn't! This asshole is not my caregiver! No way!" Steve yelled as he stood up, slamming the clipboard down, "he's the jerk who beat me up last year!"

This had to be a sick joke. There was no way Billy was Steve's 'perfect caregiver.' The guy was a dick! His own (step) sister hated him!
He felt himself start to breath heavily, eyes stinging. What the hell was going on?!

"Shit- what the hell..?" Steve groaned as the doctor came closer.
"Honey it's okay... this happens a lot when little's find out who their caregiver is... some are excited and start to revert while others aren't sure if they are angry and embarrassed... after finding out who they'll be taken care by."

Steve looked around the room, shaking as he rubbed at his damp eyes. He started sniffling and whimpering quietly.
"Let me try." Billy's voice rang out.
"Oh- William I don't know if.."

Steve then felt a hand on his shoulder and one on his cheek, wiping away some tears that started to fall.
...Jesus this was embarrassing...
"Hey there, pretty boy... calm down, okay? I know we haven't been very close but I'm gonna keep you safe," Billy said calmly, "deep breaths, buddy. You're okay. Listen to my voice."
Steve had never heard him sound so sweet... maybe it was his little brain but... listening to Billy talk was very relaxing.
Shit... Steve didn't want to think that! This guy nearly killed him!

Steve hadn't even noticed that the principal and doctor had both left the room until he glanced around. He assumed they left to give them space... Steve finally collected himself and shoved Billy away, who didn't seem to show much emotion.

"Back off! I... this is a joke. You aren't my... I am not calling you my daddy. No damn way! Tell them to check the results cause this is not happening!"
With that, Steve stormed out of the office leaving Billy alone..

Billy stood frozen in place as he heard the door slam shut. Okay, maybe he did deserve that. He had never been nice to Steve so this should have been expected. How was Billy supposed to know that Steve would be the perfect little for him? (According to the tests of course)

Billy just needed to earn Steve's trust. It was easier said then done but... he would do whatever it took to make it up to Steve. He had been a jerk for way too long.

Billy looked at the clipboard that was still on the desk and picked it up. Billy started looking over Steve's answers.
Favorite color was light blue...
Something that comforts him was his hair being played with...
Fears were being alone and being unloved..

Billy told himself that he was going to be the best damn caregiver Harrington could ever ask for.
