By now Nandini knew, on one can help her out in this situation. She is stuck for whole life. Although living with Manik is not something she dislike, it's his 'fazool ka gussa' which scares her the most.
She made her mind up, she won't cry and trust in Allah. He will guide her in her journey. While Nandini was thinking all that, she didn't realise Zoya has started to call Manik. When she looked up she saw her holding a phone next to her ear.
"Ap Kis ku phone kr rahi hain" Nandini enquired with a confused expression.
"Manik ku, mein khud baat karon gi us say! Dekhna sab theek ho jaye" Zoya said while listening to the ringtone, which indicated that Manik hasn't picked up yet.
Nandini quickly sat up listening to this
" Mama kiya krti hain hA ap, phone band karain, ap kuch nahi batain gi unhay" Nandini said whole sitting up. However it was too late, Manik had picked up and even heard what Nandini said.
"Assalamo Alikum Aunty" Manik greeted Zoya
" Walikum Asalam beta, ap free ho, kuch baat krni thi ap say" Zoya asked while Nandini who was signalling her not to talk.
"Ji Aunty kahain kiya Baat krni hA mein free hon" Manik said with utmost respect
"Beta mein Nandini say baat kr rahi thi, kafi dari hoi hA is Shadi kh baray mein, kafi samjhaya hA Meinay lekin apkay gussay ki wajah say kafi worried hA." Zoya explained while Nandini palmed her face, she was just invited danger herself.
" Aunty ap fikar Na karain mein usay baat krta hon Aur usay samjha lon ga, ap phone usay dain" Manik said
" theek ha beta, khuda Hafiz" Zoya said while giving the phone to Nandini who denied taking it
" Nandini lo, Achi baat nahi hoti" Zoya whispered
" No mama" Nandini whispered, while moving away
Zoya quickly thrusted phone in her hand and left the room
" mama.... mama..... urgh" Nandini said while getting annoyed. In the meantime Manik was saying 'hello, hello' on the phone.
Having no other option Nandini put the phone next to her ear.
"Ji hello" Nandini said in a little voice
" now you don't even want to talk to me" Manik asked
" nahi aisa nahi hA, woh Mein thori busy thi"
"Kis cheez mein, ronay mein" Manik said sarcastically
"Aisi koi baat nahi hA" Nandini replied back with form tone
"Wessay bhi Mujhay koi kaam hA mein hA rahi hon, Allah Hafiz" Nandini said hurriedly while cutting the call.
"THank You Allah mian bacha liya" Nandini sighed
Manik called back couple of times but she did not pick up, she was too scared to pick up, what if he was going to scold her again.
She looked at the watch, it was time for her duty so she started getting ready for it.
When she sat in the car, she saw 10 missed calls from Manik and few messages which read
"PICK UP THE CALL NOW OR YOU WILL HAVE TO FACE ME"
"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME"
Now Nandini was more scared but she made her mind she won't pick up the call no matter what.
"Jab milain gaye tah Dekha jaye ga, maybe tab tak woh Bhool bhi jaian" Nandini thought while driving the car.
