"Black?!"
Haganezuka seems annoyed, while Urokodaki was a little harder to read.

"That's interesting."

"Why?! Does turning black mean something bad?? Is it unlucky?"
He sounded a little worried.

"No, no. It's just that it's a little unusual. You don't see it often. It's pitch black."
Urokodaki assured him, and he looked at me for my opinion.

I just shrugged, but still smiled as I held my own sword, curious what'll it'll be when I draw it.

"And I was really hoping to see a sword turn bright red! Damn it!!"
Haganezuka suddenly snapped, clearly annoyed now as he tackled Tanjiro.

"Ow! Hey! Please stop! How old are you, anyway?!"

"I'm thirty!"

I blast them both with a gust of wind to stop them, Urokodaki unphased as if he's seen this time and time again.

"Can we maybe not fight? Please?"
I ask of them, Haganezuka now turned to me, invading my personal space yet again.

"You!"

He points right at my sword, still yelling.

"You draw your sword! Yours should definitely still be silver!"

He gets away, and I'm anxious, but take a deep breath before slowly drawing the blade.

To say it was beautiful was an understatement. The blade was so finely crafted, and it shined so bright under the light from outside.

I hold it to get a feel for how it would actually be to use it, and I notice it starts to change its color.

It's... pure white? No, it's not white, it's glowing white.

Even Haganezuka seems confused, and I immediately drop the sword and back away as I felt it nearly burn me.

The glow went away, and Haganezuka was truly right about mine, it was a bright silver color.

Did it glow because... I'm the Avatar? He said the sword is unique to each owner, so maybe mine glowed because of that?

They all stared at me, and I feel embarrassed at the scene I just caused.
"Sorry, I just didn't expect it to start glowing out of nowhere... It's not a bad thing, right?"

"I... don't know. I've never heard of a nichirin blade glowing before."
Urokodaki's words were just what I expected, and I sigh a little.

Haganezuka was completely speechless, and either terrified or impressed, I didn't know.

Before it gets awkward, Tanjiro's crow and my owl come flying down the sky to the window, perching there.

"Tanjiro Kamado! Y/N L/N! I bring you orders!"

"Huh? It can talk?"
Tanjiro mumbled, looking curiously at me as I simply pet my owl, who sat on my leg, repeating the same thing as his crow.

"You two must go to a town west of here! And hurry! Young girls are disappearing! Caw! Caw!"

We're both surprised, but nod.
"Night after night, at least one of them goes missing!"

"You must hunt down the demon responsible, and kill it!"

My owl perked up now, and I'm genuinely surprised that it knows how to speak, what an oddly familiar voice too...

"Y/N L/N, Tanjiro Kamado, prepare yourselves well. This is your first assignment as members of the Demon Slayer Corps!"

I get up and hold my sword, Tanjiro raising his own too, confident.

"Let's do this!"
