I shake my head as the two twins from a week before spoke up.

"Patience. We must first issue out your uniforms."
I listened on, interested.
"We will first take your measurements, then, your rank will be engraved on the back of your hand."
"For your reference, there are ten ranks in total."
"Kinoe."
"Kinoto."
"Hinoe."
"Hinoto."
"Tsuchinoe."
"Tsuchinoto."
"Kanoe."
"Kanoto."
"Mizunoe."
"Mizunoto."
They spoke, alternating for every rank, and I exchange a curiously excited glance with Tanjiro, who gave me a small smile.
"You all start at Mizunoto. This is the lowest rank in the Demon Slayer Corp."
No eyebrows spoke up yet again, starting to slightly annoy me. We'd get there at one point, why rush it?!
"And our swords?"
He growled slightly near the end, his temper clearly running short.
"In a moment, you will be able to choose the ore that will be forged into your swords. However, it will be ten to fifteen days before the weapons are ready for you."
He groaned, but seemed to back down for now. I swear, if he acts up again I'm gonna tell him some... delightful words.
"But first."
The girl with white hair clapped her hands twice, and a small group of birds began to caw and approach us.
Admittedly, we were a little startled when they perched on us, but the crows seemed harmless enough.
The only two with different birds were mine and the blondie's.
Though... His was far sillier. Just a tiny sparrow he seemed scared of.
I, however had more of an... owl...?
It looked like an owl at least? I paid no mind to it as it already seemed to like me, leaning its head down to analyze me.
How oddly adorable for such a large predatory bird.
