Mr. Urokodaki gave us both a bowl, a victorious tone in his voice.
"You both finished your training, so we're celebrating. Go ahead and eat. Don't be shy."

We both thank him and start eating, and heavens, the food is amazing! Urokodaki sure knows how to cook.

"This is amazing! Not even I can cook this well! Thank you, Mr. Urokodaki!"

Both me and Tanjiro went for seconds, the two of us truly celebrating our victory.

After dinner, I help Tanjiro cut his hair, before cutting my own hair short too. It was a lot more practical for me, and I didn't look so bad either.

"Do I look ok?"
I ask him, just brushing my hair into place with my hand.

"Mhm!"
He cheerfully nods, our attention turning to Mr. Urokodaki as he stood up.
Grabbing something from a cabinet, he walked over and handed them to us. Masks?

"What're these?"
Tanjiro asks, visually comparing mine to his.
It seems like Mr. Urokodaki made them specifically for us, seeing as mine included my arrow tattoo, which I found to be quite endearing.

"It's called a warden mask. It's been enchanted by a protection spell to keep you safe."

Both me and Tanjiro just share a look of mutual understanding, knowing where we've seen them before, thanking Mr. Urokodaki before heading to bed.

"Goodnight, Tanjiro."
I softly whisper as I huddle under my blanket, hearing him reply in a similar tone of voice.

"Sleep well, Y/N."

The next morning, we got dressed, wearing the haori that Mr Urokodaki gave us, each a different shade of blue, but with a similar cloud pattern to his.

We fixed our masks on our heads, and I made sure to hold my staff behind my back. Sword at the ready by my side.

Both of us bid Nezuko goodbye, and I let Tanjiro linger more, he would be ready soon, and I didn't need to rush him.

Once ready, we head outside and bid thank you and goodbye to Mr. Urokodaki.
"I promise we'll come back, Mr. Urokodaki. Avatar's promise-"
Before I realize what I've said, it was too late as they both gave me a strange look.

"What? I-It's a promise type us airbenders make."
I lied, hopefully convincingly enough. Why did I even say that?? Since when do I make Avatar promises?!

To ease the awkwardness, I bow and thank Mr. Urokodaki again, before I leave with Tanjiro.

"See you later!"
He calls out, stopping a little farther ahead.

"Say hi to Sabito and Makomo for us!"
Tanjiro called.
I wave goodbye and catch up with Tanjiro, the both of us excited as we travel together.

We keep walking for a while, soon entering a gorgeous forest of wisteria.

"It's so... beautiful."
Is really all I can say, stopping for a moment to observe the delicate lavender colors, Tanjiro doing the same.

"It really is. I thought wisteria was out of season, though."

"Mm... Maybe it blooms just here all year round?"
