He sweetly smiles at you, and for a second you see the same innocence you would see in Ame, but you thank him and follow close behind, climbing the mountain and soon reaching the bright and warm lights of the place they called home.
They bring you in and offer to put your snow-soaked robe to warm up and dry, to which you nod and thank them.
Behind a corner, you spot a girl, with bright eyes and a curious glint in them staring at you.
Tanjiro soon returns with a long piece of fabric for you to tie the haori, and you thank him again while Nezuko went into another room.
You felt anxious as he waved to the girl.
"Hey, Hanako ! Where's mom?" She points to the kitchen, still looking at you curiously.
You soon realize what she's staring at and fluster, realizing she's staring at your tattoos and scratches.
He held your hand as he brought you to his mother, who was just as pretty as her two kids you've seen.
Nezuko stood by her side, still worried about you as she held her mother's sleeve.
"Oh, you're back-" She stops and looks at you, and you immediately bow out of respect, not wanting to be rude.
"Is this the person you were worried about?" She asks, her voice gentle and warm, not a hint of suspicion to be heard.
"Mhm! She was freezing when we found her, so I wanted to know if it's okay for her to spend the night here."
"I'm Y/N L/N. It's nice to meet you, ma'am." You introduce yourself, and your anxiety keeps boiling inside you until she smiles and nods.
"How nice to meet you too! Oh my, you seem rather hurt... I'll help clean you up before dinner, alright?" Her gentle and soothing voice ease your stress, and you nod.
"Thank you for letting me stay, Miss Kamado."
Tanjiro let go of your hand to grab some bowls, which you soon offered to help him with, but Nezuko insisted that you warm up first, taking you to the dining room where she warmed you up best she could with her firebending.
While Tanjiro set the table, the warmth and kindness that radiated from these two brought a sense of comfort that you haven't felt in so long as they made idle chatter, easing the nervousness.
Their mother was just as sweet, and you couldn't be more thankful that she let you stay, let alone care for your cuts and scrapes.
At dinner, you met Tanjiro's other siblings, the second youngest one being a little weary of you, only slightly opening up after seeing that his brother didn't mind you.
