The dark gray-haired woman made her way into the meditation hall, her steps echoing on the cold and hard floor, a faint dragging of fabric from behind her as her robes touched the ground.
She sat down in the lotus position on one of the cushions, and focused as she drifted into a state of calm and quiet.
The only sounds present were those of softly chirping birds from outside, accompanied by the dance of fallen leaves and the silent but noticeable breeze.
Time felt like it stopped, but the clarity in her mind actually helped time pass even quicker.
Her eyes opened near the sunset, and she sat up to join the other nuns for the usual evening dinner and tea before the meditation they would do in groups.
Everything went by without any issues, the events of the day feeling like the relaxed flow of a crystal-clear river.
Wishing a restful sleep to her fellow nuns, Kana made her way to her own chambers, changing before going to sleep.
She easily dozed off, her mind at peace as she felt hopeful for what tomorrow might bring.
Oh, what tomorrow would bring...
The banging and crying by the main doors shook her awake in the middle of the night, worried as she got up and ran out of her room, down the stairs and to the main hall to see the commotion for herself.
She rushed up and went to open the gates in a hurry, but saw other nuns had already done that.
They all worriedly spoke and brought in the familiar body of a young girl, who had seemingly fainted in their arms.
Kana felt her heart stop in an instant and she moved past them to see her student's limp body, covered in scratches, blood and dirt.
"Make way!"
Her voice loudly sounded, the nuns separating, thankful she was there.
She grabbed the girl, gasping as she recognized the familiar features, now scrunched up in pain and panic, tears staining her face as she shivered, her skin ice cold, piercing to the touch.
"Y/N!"
She called her name over and over to get any form of reaction, only receiving faint and incoherent mumbles. But holding a hand to her wrist brought a pulse, and she was thankful she was alive.

1st Person POV
When I awoke, my body immediately sat upright, a scream coming from my throat as I searched my surroundings in a panic.
I had to save my brother!
"Ame?!"
Immediately, pain sears through my head and body, which felt sore and as stiff as a boulder, vision clouding for a split second as I couldn't recognise my surroundings, feeling sweat bead on my forehead.
"Ame where-!"
"Shhh, Y/N, it's alright. You're okay."
The voice of my master caught my attention, and I saw her kneel by my side, her hand gently placed on my shoulder.
Her eyes held so much worry, and I couldn't help but feel bad for the stress I caused, but it was justified.
"How are you feeling?"
Her voice was clearly worried, as if her expression didn't already convey that.
