Tina Knowles-Lawson grinned with excitement at the sight of her eldest daughter, Beyoncé, calling through her Apple laptop via FaceTime. She was always so thrilled to see her calling considering she's always busy after moving to London to take on her dream career.

Beyoncé hasn't been back home to Houston in thirteen years, but she makes sure to fly Tina and the family out every now and then to see her. Her job pays her well.

She quickly pressed answer.

"Hi my baby." She squealed.

"Hi, Mom." Beyoncé grinned with a slight laughed. "How are you?"

"I'm great, how are you?"

"I am doing well." She said. "I'm sure you're just getting up. I'm about to wind it down."

"Okay, well I'm glad you called. I'm guessing this is just to check in since you haven't called me in three days." Tina said. "Just replies that take to long."

"No, I honestly didn't mean to not call you that long." She sighed. "I've just been going through my own life stuff here in London."

"Life stuff like what? There's no one there except you and yours employee friends. So I think."

"It's just us, but that's where the life shit happens."

"What's wrong? Why are you so down?" Tina asked her.

She sighed deeply, "I don't know. I just miss home I guess. Don't get me wrong. I love the work I've done here in London, but I'm starting to miss home a bit."

"Well honey, you know you have a place to stay when you're here. You're welcome to come home for however long you need to. The family hasn't seen you, so you know it'll be worth your while."

"I know. It's just....the memories and the reason why I left I guess." She shrugged, then sighed.

"I know. And you have every right to still feel that way about home, but you did what you felt was right and that's all the matters."

Beyoncé did not reply right away. She looked as if she was contemplating on if she wanted to tell her mother how she was truly feeling and how she has truly felt in the last thirteen and a half years.

"What's wrong, baby girl? Why are you acting like that?"

"Mom," She called staring off into space.

"What is it, honey?"

"I've been thinking a lot in the past couple weeks and honestly years since I left home and....," Tears rolled down her face.

Tina looked on with concern.

"Bey, what's going on?"

"Lately I've been questioning if what I did was the right thing to do?"

"Man, it's been a minute since I've been back to Houston." I told my beautiful wife, Dana. "It's still the same, but a lot different,"

"It's still the same, but a lot different,"
