*flashback*

Arcadias hearts were pounding so hard in her chest that she could hear it echoing through her head, they were beating so hard and fast that she feared that they were going to escape and just rip themselves out of her own accord. Large droplets of sweat and blood were clinging to her forehead 

Her legs ached but she wouldn't stop. She couldn't stop. She had to save him, no matter what, she had to save him. She used all of the strength she could muster to run to the top of the hill but the strong wind pushed against her body and the heavy rain fell to her skin like bullets. It were as if the world didn't want to save him but she didn't care because as far as she was concerned... he was her world

Finally, Arcadia had made it to the top of the hill and she let out a soft sigh of relief, however the relief was short lived as she looked around at her surroundings and she noticed the body on the ground.

His black hair was spread everywhere and blood pooled around him and his cold lifeless eyes stared up at the stormy sky. Her hearts clenched in her chest and she let out a choked sob as she stumbled forward and fell to her knees next to him. Tears poured down her cheeks as she grabbed his body and cradled him in his arms. The rain poured down around them and all that could be heard was her harsh sobs 

"No! No! No! don't do this you cant do this to me. Please don't leave me, please" She cried and waited for him to wake up but she knew it wasn't going to happen "You don't get to quit on me alright? Dont you get it, i need you, i cant do this without you Zeldris please. Youre going to be okay, you're going to be just fine Z"

Arcadia body shook violently as she craddled his body and held him tightly in her arms and in her chest and she felt anger flow through her "Dont you dare give up on me. I love you do you hear me? Fight dammnit! Dammnit please just wake up! I love you"

Darkness covered Arcadias body as she let out a scream of agony and then everything around her went black.

Arcadia sat up in her bed panting heavily and she had tears and sweat running down her face, All of her hearts were beating at a thousand miles an hour and she shakily got out of bed and quickly slipped her robe on before making her way over to the door. carefully and quietly she pushed her bedroom door open and tip toed down the long hallways of the kingdom, making sure not to wake anyone up.

Arcadia finally stops walking as she comes face to face with the familiar red door and she quietly nocks on it "Zel?" she whispers and gets no response so she carefully pushes the door open and then shuts it behind her, the only light source in the room came from the moon and she silently thanked Zeldris for leaving his blinds open though when she noticed his messy and empty bed she felt the tears come back to her eyes and she begged that it was a nightmare and it wasn't true, there was no way that Zeldris had died right?

A strangled sob escaped her lips and then she hears a voice from behind her "Princess whats wrong?" he asks quietly and she quicky turns to see Zeldris who had a towel wrapped around his waist and his hair was wet and messy

He quickly went up to her and pulled her into his chest and she buries her face in his neck and she sobbed quietly though she tried to hide it "hey hey its okay, whats wrong and why are you crying?" he asked and she pulled her head from his neck so she could look him in the eyes. He brings his hands to her face and rubs the tears on her cheeks away with his thumbs

"It was nothing, just a nightmare" Arcadia says with a small sigh but as she thought about his dead body in her arms she began to break down again "y-you you died, yo-you le-left me" she was never one to show people how she was feeling especially when what she was feeling was sadness

"Hey shh shh it was just a nightmare okay, none of it was real, i would never leave you okay" he whispers into her hair and then ran his finger through it softly "I promise you that i will never leave you okay"

She looks up and nods her head and he places a kiss on her forehead before picking her up and placing her down in his bed and then climbing in next to her, she lays her head on his chest and he rubs his hand up and down her back

"one of the only nights you don't sleep in the same room as me and you have a nightmare" Zeldris says softly "I guess its a sign"

"Oh yeah?" she asks with a grin "And what sign would that be"

"that every night you have to stay with me, then you wont have nightmares" he said softly with a grin on his face

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea" she mutters out softly, though what he didn't know was that it definitely was not a rare thing for the girl to be having nightmares
