y/n: "If you're going to troll me about Taheyun--"
hueningkai: "I'm not. Swear."
y/n: "Fine."
hueningkai: "Why do you live with your aunt and uncle instead of your parents?"
(silence)
hueningkai: "Did I overstep?"
y/n: "No. Just give me a minute."
hueningkai: "Okay."
y/n: "Should we keep walking around the inn or go outside?"
hueningkai: "Stay inside. It's way too cold now outside and that jacket isn't thick enough."
y/n: "Like yours is any better."
hueningkai: "Mine has pockets. That automatically makes it better."
y/n: (sighs)
hueningkai: "It's been a minute."
y/n: "Right."
hueningkai: "...listen, I only asked because it seems like you need to let it out. Might as well tell me. I won't be here long."
y/n: "...my sister."
hueningkai: "What about her?"
y/n: "We're not really sisters."
hueningkai: "What do you mean?"
y/n: "I'm not really her sister. We found out last year. My mom slept with someone else. I have a different dad."
hueningkai: "Jesus. God, I'm... I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked."
y/n: "No, it's fine. I get it. I would be curious, too. I know my sister can be a little abrasive."
hueningkai: "A little?"
y/n: "But she's confused right now. After we found out, everyone got driven apart and took sides. My sister took my dad's side and my mom expected me to take hers."
hueningkai: "Did you?"
y/n: "No. I didn't take anyone's side. It's not fair for them to expect me to. I'm their child, not their marriage counselor."
hueningkai: "That's completely true. So what happened?"
y/n: "Barely anyone talked to each other. My sister and I would argue all the time. Then one day, my parents got really into it. My dad... he almost hit my mom."
hueningkai: "What?"
y/n: "And I got shoved into a wall trying to calm them down."
hueningkai: "Jesus christ, [y/n]. Are you okay?"
y/n: "I didn't get hurt physically. I was okay. But obviously, it... did some emotional damage."
hueningkai: "So you decided to come and live with your aunt and uncle?"
y/n: "It was my dad that made the arrangement, actually. Him and my aunt are siblings. I think he felt bad about how it all went down."
