SCENE 1
JOANA rushes through the hallway and stops before entering their Literature class. CRIS notices him and was surprised.
JOANA
(Walks to the professor's desk)
Sir, here are my excuse letters for the whole week.
PROFESSOR JAMIE
Thank you, sit down, please.
JOANA
(Looks around for a seat)
CRIS
(Waves and points at empty seat)
JOANA
(Rushes to the empty seat)
Hi, Thanks.
CRIS
I didn't know you were in this class.
JOANA
(Almost inaudible giggle)
I didn't know I was either. Just kidding. I didn't know you were either.
CRIS
How come..
(PROFESSOR JAMIE passes by)
CRIS (Continued)
How come I hadn't noticed?
(Quiet giggle)
JOANA
I barely attend class and if I do, I'd be at the back of the room.
PROFESSOR JAMIE
(Stops and faces them)
Is there a problem, Ms. Bianchi and Ms. Soto?
JOANA
No, sir.
CRIS
I was just telling her what she missed.
PROFESSOR JAMIE
Very well. On our next assignment, why don't you two pair up?
CRIS
(Looks at JOANA)
JOANA
(Reassuring smile)
Sounds good to me, are you okay with it?
CRIS
Yes, of course, of course.
JOANA
Okay, it's settled.
(Audible giggle)
