𝟑𝟎 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥

~~ 21. ~~

               Bayo and Helen came in just after the waiter left their table. They exchanged greetings and she felt comfortable for the first time since she entered the club when she saw Helen.

"What about Joan?" Lola asked.

"She is fine," Helen replied. "She is with my mom at home."

"Okay."

               They sat talking and discussing. Lola saw how Demilade mingle with his friends with ease. You will think he is a different person just watching him cracking jokes and laughing with his friends. His attitude was different from how he behaved at home.

              And just from watching them, she could tell the personality of his friends. He seems to be the quietest person among them. But he was still free with them.

              They laughed, talked and drink. She was even jealous of how Helen and the lady she had learned her name to be Immaculate talked so freely and blend well with the men.

             And once again, she felt out of place. She missed her friends just by watching them. She sat quietly just smiling and chewing her chicken kiev.

   

              Later when things were getting erotic. Demilade friends were busy kissing, caressing the ladies with them at the same time talking. To them, it was kind of fun and normal. The ladies seem okay with it. Helen doesn't seem affected too. Her husband is beside her and he kisses her once in a while. And It doesn't seem like a big deal to Demilade either.

             But it was to her. Because Demilade wasn't her real boyfriend. And it felt odd watching others do those things to their boyfriend and she just have to watch. Although, even if Demilade was her real boyfriend, there will be limited to what she would have done.

              She look around and she could see others around them in their spaces openly having sex on the chair, some were performing fellatio. The place suddenly becomes suffocating for her.

"Excuse me." She whispered to Demilade who was busy listening to what Bayo was saying about someone she doesn't know.

               She stands up and tried to look for a restroom. Along the hallway, she found a door that leads to a balcony. She opened the door and walk to the balcony. It was dark outside and there was light that lit the beautiful skyscrapers and buildings below. Even the streetlights illuminate the road.

               It was beautiful watching the view. And the cold air of the night brought comfort to her skin. And she finally feel like she could breathe.

               She stands there watching the beautiful view when someone also came standing beside her.

"Hi." The voice said. She turns to look at the person. It was a guy in his mid-thirties with heavy beard. He wears fitted jeans and tees. He was holding a glass of wine.

"Hi." She said.

"Hope I'm not intruding?" He asked politely.

"Of course not." She answered and he smile. "It's not my building." His smile grows wider. And it was then she saw his face. He was handsome.

"That is a relief." He said and he sipped from his glass.

"Do you come here to look at the view like me?" He asked looking at her.

                 Demilade noticed Lola is not yet back. He heard what she said before she stands up and he thought she was going to the restroom. But she had been gone for almost forty minutes. He had been looking at his time since she left.

               Not like he was monitoring her but he felt she should be back minutes ago. He knew she doesn't know anywhere in the hotel so she won't be far.

"Where is Lola?" Fareed asked.

"She is probably in the restroom." He answered. And they went back into their discussions.

               Bayo gave him a look that he knows very well. He knows that he doesn't know where she is.

"Excuse me, guys," Demilade said and he stood up before they could reply.

              He walked to the female rest room and she wasn't there. He didn't mind the eyes of some of the ladies. Most of them were gawking at him. But he didn't seem affected.

               He walked out already feeling annoyed and he walked in the empty brightly lit hallway to the balcony hoping she was there.

             And she was.

            He saw her standing with a guy laughing. She said something which make the man also laugh.

            They looked like they had been long-time friends. But he knows better. Men like the one talking to Lola will want something in return. He will look like a good friend at first but they have a secret agenda.

            And for a reason he doesn't know, he felt anger and he balled his hand into a fist. He opened the door and approached them.

           They turned around to look at their intruder. He could see the surprised look on Lola while the man glared at him and gave him a look that says he is intruding and not welcome.

           He looked away and stood beside Lola pulling her close to him from the waist. The man's eyes grew wide open.

"You are here. I thought you want to use the restroom." Demilade said sweetly and he gently brush the hair from her face snaking his hand around her waist.

"I.."

              He quickly cut her short. "You are here for the view." And she nodded. He pulled her closer.

"I didn't know you were here with your boyfriend." The man beside her said to Lola. He was offended and disappointed but he quickly turns it into a small forced smile.

"Sorry I didn't mention it."

             Demilade could see he was suppressing a wave of anger and he looked quite disappointed. He looked at Demilade who stare at him with an expressionless face.

"Don't mind me. It's okay. Sorry dude." He said and walked away.

              When he was out of sight, he removed his hand from her waist.

"What are you doing here?" He asked angrily.

"I needed air." She answered. He huffed.

               He looked at her for a while quietly before turning around and walking away. To avoid any unnecessary arguments, Lola decided to follow him back inside the club.

I think this is the longest chapter in the book for now. I wanted to make it 4000+  words to make up for the request for the update but I don't want to complete the day in this chapter.
