Chapter 4 - "You hate someone. I'm so proud!"

"Cassie, sweetie, you know saying he's a racist is ok right. It's not mean to say it, it's just blunt and honest."

"Ok," Cassie smiled before furrowing her eyebrows. "He's really racist and I hate him."

"Wow, you just said you hate someone." Cassie's eyes filled with worry as Enya smiled and tackled her into a hug. "I'm so proud! My baby's all grown up and saving China!"

Cassie laughed.

'Who's your baby who is saving China? And why are we quoting Mulan?' Rory's voice echoed in Enya's head. She shook her head and smiled, pulling away from Cassie.

'Cassie said she hated Jamie.' She thought. 'Cause he's a racist twerp.'

Rory laughed back over the mind link. 'Wow big words from the Pollyanna of the group. I'm so proud.'

'That's what I said.'

'Anywho, we're going to head down to Cafeteria for dinner. You guys coming?'

'We'll be right out.' Enya smiled as she got up and grabbed her some socks and her trainers before slipping them on. "Rory and Zap are heading down to the Caf, shall we go?"

Cassie screwed her eyes up into a squint as she stared at Enya. "I swear you guys speak telepathically."

"We do."

Cassie jaw hit the ground. "You've never admitted it. You always refused to answer. So, wait you have the Mind power as well! You're so young for additional powers, that's so cool!" She rambled hanging on to Enya's arm.

"We don't have Mind, it's just a twin thing. We've always been able to do it."

"You sure you don't have the Mind swirl around your mark?" Cassie pointed at Enya's neck where the marking was hidden by the turtleneck of the jumper, as they left Enya's room and stood in the tiny hall in between their rooms.

"Yeah. Plus, it's not like I can speak to anyone else or read anyone's mind. Just Rory's."

"Hmm...fine. That's still cool though."

As they walked out into the corridor, they spotted the boys leaning against their door opposite theirs.

"Zap! You will never believe what Enya just admitted!"

"Hey, Henry?"

Henry turned to Donovan, as he stuffed some lasagne in his mouth. "Mhmm?"

"What did you mean by suspension?"

Henry tilted his head in confusion as he chewed.

"Earlier, you said that...the 'Ice Queen' had managed to hide her powers in the 3 months since she came to school because she was on suspension. What does that mean?"

Henry nodded as he swallowed. "They really need to come up with a new nickname." He took a sip of his drink as he lent back in his chair, the Cafeteria noise filling the silence as dozens of teens chatted about anything and everything. "She was put on Elementa suspension after some incident in her last school."

"Incident?" Donovan quirked an eyebrow, his dark eyes inquisitive.

Henry tilted his head as he glanced at Donovan before turning back to his food. "Mighty curious, aren't you?" He grabbed another forkful of lasagne but left it to hover in his hand. "Rumour is that she got cornered and had an Outburst in front of a bunch of humans and caused a major incident. Using powers in front of humans is a big no-no, as you know. So, she was put on a three-month suspension while she worked on her anger-management." He lifted up the fork to his mouth but paused. "That's the rumour at least." And then he stuffed the food in his mouth.
