Background:
Athena is a single child to a single mother. Her father left their family in order to pursue his "career" in being a criminal and street thug. Ever since he left, Athena and her mom have been struggling financially. This forced Athena's mom to work multiple jobs and work undesirable hours for years. The broken family dynamic took a heavy toll on Athena. She lost all motivation for school.
Athena met April and Carrie in the 8th grade. The three girls quickly became friends. In fact, it was Carrie who inspired Athena to join a dojo. She had always been interested in martial arts and Carrie's experiences motivated her to try it out. She found she was surprisingly good at it and enjoyed it. Besides, it gave her an excuse for her poorer performance in school.
Fun Facts • Athena loves to skateboard and is really good at it if she says so herself (and she does) • She isn't a picky eater and will eat pretty much anything you place in front of her • If she had to choose a favorite food, it would be chocolate chip cookies • She's respectful of other's opinions unless she thinks they're wrong, in which case you will never hear the end of it • The dojo she trains at is none other than Chris Bradford's
