Melodie awoke on the morning of September first with a malicious smirk on her face. Checking once more that she had packed everything, she closed her trunk before walking out of the bedroom door. She walked outside towards the taxi the matron had called for. "Kings Cross Station," she stated coldly to the taxi driver, who nodded and started to drive. The entire ride was silent as Melodie thought through her plan of taking the goat down. Once she arrived she quickly payed the driver before walking into the station. She stalked through the wall between 9 and 10 and came out on the other side. Glancing at the clock she quickly shrunk her trunk and stepped onto the train. The train itself, she observed was a very biased Gryffindor red. Walking along the corridor, she stopped by the next empty compartment near the quieter section of the train. Stepping inside she noticed the seats were a very Slytherin green, which she smirked at knowing this would definitely be a potential house option. Closing the dark wooden doors behind her, she sat down surprising herself with the softness of the seat. Quietly, she thought of the first step of her plan to take the goat, as she had now started calling him, down. After a while of thinking, the train wheels squeaked and started to move. 'We're of' Melodie thought with a small but happy grin. She sat quietly reading the book she left out of the trunk "Dark Curses and When to use them." Sadly, Melodie only got half an hour of peace before someone loudly and rudely slammed her door open. She jolted sharply at the loud noise before glaring at the boy who made it. He had obnoxious red hair and a dirty face smothered with freckles. She took one glance at his outfit to see an overly sized muggle jumper and some khaki green trousers. None of it new. She then looked up to his face waiting for him to speak. "Can I sit here everywhere else is full?" He asked in a loud and annoying voice. She sneered at him before stating quite clearly that the train ride expands for students to sit at. "His face turned a very violent shade of red before he stomped out slamming the door behind him. Melodie just rolled her eyes at his child ness
Before continuing to peacefully read for the next hour. Once more she was rudely interrupted by a girl with bushy brown hair questioning "Have you seen a toad? A boy named Neville lost one." The bushy brunette had an air of superiority around her making her out to be a person who thought she was better than everyone else. "No" Melodie answered coldly hoping the girl would get the hint and leave. She didn't, just exclaimed about the book Melodie was reading. "Can I read it after your done?" The brunette asked eagerly "I'm new to magic you see, my parents were so exited when I got my letter and I'm trying to learn everything about it," she ranted on before Melodie cut of with a cold "No." The girl looked at her and with her superiority complex stated "Your being quite rude you know." That was what did it for Melodie. "I'm being rude says the person who barged into my compartment without knocking and continued to stay after I had clearly indicated I wanted you to leave, and now your calling me rude," she ranted with an icy cold glare on her face. The brunette quickly quailed under her glare and fled. Melodie shut the door once again hoping to find a bit of peace for more than an hour. She got her wish but was disturbed one final time by a familiar blonde. It was Draco Malfoy. He quietly asked if he and his friends could sit before taking a seat opposite her. His three friend names were Theodore Nott, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini. Observing, Melodie notice that Theodore had dark brown messy hair and a tan skin. He also had chestnut brown eyes with a curious gleam in them. Pansy has a dark bob of black hair and chocolate brown eyes. Blaise had dark skin and stubbly brown hair with dark umber eyes. Pansy had sat next to her with Theo and Blaise next to Draco. They conversed quietly between each other for the rest of the train ride only stopping to get changed into robes.

"FIR'S YERS TO ME ! " a giant man shouted  walking down the jagged stony pathway. Quickly following the five of us got into a boat and set sail. I was in awe as I first glanced up at the castle it was mesmerising. As the boats stopped in the docks, I felt her magic surrounding me supporting me In my goal to get rid of the old goat. We walked into the entrance hall where we were greeted by professor McGonagall who explained the houses to us with a speech I knew she uses every year thanks to death. "The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rulebreaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours.
"The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting." Once the speech was over I glanced around to some of the other first years sorting out there robes. We waited a couple more minutes until McGonagall led us to the great hall. We then watched as the hat began to sing a song.
"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffis are true And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"
There was an applause as the hat finished its song before the sorting started.
"Abbott, Hannah!" "HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Bones, Susan!" "HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Boot, Terry!" "RAVENCLAW!"
"Brocklehurst, Mandy" "RAVENCLAW!"
"Brown, Lavender" "GRYFFINDOR!"
"Bulstrode, Millicent" "SLYTHERIN!"
The hat kept sorting until her name was called "Potter, Melodie" The whispers started as she walked gracefully to the stool. 'Hello Alistair,' she thought as the hat was placed on her head. 'Ah hello miss potter!" the hat thought enthusiastically. 'Well this won't take long,' the hat thought laughing. "SLYTHERIN!" the hat shouted. Silence was heard but then the slytherin's started clapping. She stood up and walked to the table. Sitting next to Draco, she thought. Part 1 complete.
