Not Alone

Chapter 27
(5 months later )
Rachel's pov:
It's me 5 months since I left Ohio and Finn behind . After I got back Sam and I had a really big talk and decided it would be best if we broke off the engagement . I moved out and got a small two bedroom in Brooklyn. It's just me and the baby now , and to be honest I'm scared out of my mind . But I can't go back to Sam , it wasn't right , he's a good man but it just didn't fit . As for Finn he's been trying to get a hold of me but I've been dodging his calls , I know it's wrong but , I can't face him, not after no everything I put him through . He deserves better . I walked upstairs to my apartment with the grocery bags in my hand to see Finn sitting there waiting for me . I looked at him and he smiled looking at me and my belly .

"Hi."

My eyes welled up with tears , I dropped my groceries and I leaped into his arms and cried as he held me .

(In the apartment)
Finn got me into the apartment and put away my groceries and then brought me some hot lavender tea and a blanket . He sat there and smiled .

"How did you ...."

"You really think Kurt wouldn't track you when you're all by yourself in Brooklyn ?" He said rhetorically.

"Well I'm glad he did but , Finn I don't understand why you're here ." I said

"Rachel , I know you said you needed space but after Kurt told me you and Sam broke up , I couldn't bare the thought of you and our baby living alone . I know this is a difficult situation which is why I decided to move here and help you raise our baby . I know we're not together and as much as I want to be with you , I want you to get through this pregnancy as healthy as possible so I'm here for you as a friend and the father of our child ." He told me

I looked at him and gave him a hug ,

"Thank you."

I sat there , my arms wrapped around him not wanting to let go . I felt so safe for the first time in forever . He pulled away and moved over a bit .

"So , do you know the babies gender ?"

I shook my head , "Yeah , actually I do . It's a girl ." I told him

He brightened up ,

"A girl!"

I smiled and said ,

"Yeah."

I could see the tears in his eyes . He looked so happy it warmed my heart. I smiled as he wiped his tears .

"I brought the baby something." He told me

He got up and gave me a small baby bag with an elephant on it . I opened it and it was Finns old baby blanket . It was a lime green and had a patch with a music note on it .

"Oh Finn , it's beautiful ."

" I know it's not much but this was my first blanket . Kurt sewed the patch on for me and I washed it up as nice as possible . I figure we could take her home in this ." He told me

"Of course , thank you ." And I gave him a hug
