•Retrospective•

Venus let out a loud groan and heavily plopped her head on Bear's neck with her body laying on the reindeer and arms sluggishly hanging beside her. Messy mind, aching heart and tired soul. The girl was drained yet she was healing but not in a favorable pace as she kept on falling back into the abyss of I fucking miss him and it's killing me inside out. She blankly stared at the galloping herd of reindeer as their riders chased down some mountain goats which didn't involve her since she volunteered to support them from behind considering her poor handling with the crossbow.

As the galloping faded away when they went deeper into the woods and left the girl behind, Venus started to pick up on a faint noise and Bear seemed alerted as well. Venus slowly sat up and gripped onto Bear's antlers which she used to maneuver the reindeer and glanced around but only saw a peaceful forest surrounding her. Then, Bear's ears perked and held his head up as he stared at a direction. The girl let the reindeer walked on his own as he slowly approached the direction which led them to the edge if the forest where the cliff of the mountain was. Yes, their hunt was in a woods on a small mountain and Venus got a view of the Hualujia village below her.

However, a sight caught her attention and immediately sent her into a hyperventilating state with hammering heart and rushing blood. It seemed like such scene had traumatized and scarred her. Venus gripped Bear's antlers tightly and breathed unevenly as she stared at the approaching wave of disaster. The disaster that she was very familiar with. The disaster that pour in death and pain. The disaster she lost him in. And it was no other than the swarm of zombies invading the only shelter she had. Venus's eyes trembled at the sight of a wave of zombies, biggest than the one in Jeju, approaching the village with great speed.

Her mind couldn't process it and her heart refused to accept it so her instinct kicked in. It was not the best idea but Venus did what she needed to do at that moment for the sake of the people.

"ZOMBIES!!!!!"

Venus screamed on top of her lungs, not caring if she attracts another herd of zombies and she had no choice but to blow her lungs out. Her scream imma caught the attention of the hunting group and they quickly left the goats before sprinting back. When they got back, Venus was already galloping downhill towards the attacked village. As she got closer, screams and cries became louder and it got her nerves jolting in utter fear. She was getting closer to the village but when she saw blood splattering and live cannibalism, the girl quickly steered Bear away by turning its antlers around. The girl let the reindeer galloped on the edge of the chaotic village while she had her head lowered as she breathed heavily. The scene of the chaos back in Jeju was still fresh and traumatizing for her, ripping oxygen out of her lungs.

The girl started to lose consciousness as screams became louder beside her ears though she was getting further away from the village. Venus suddenly lost her strength and fell rolled onto the ground. The fall damaged the girl's body greatly but not as bad as her raging mind that was throbbing in her skull as trauma struck her like a storm of hammers and drills, causing the girl to backed away and pressed her back against a tree as she painfully curled her body. Hot tears drenched her face and limbs trembled in utmost fear, it felt as if her heart stopped beating and was already dead but she could still hear her violent breathing as she silently whimpered through her dried throat.

As Venus was drowning in her tribulation, Bear took the role of a big guard dog with it long antlers swinging at a group of approaching zombies. These scavengers went straight towards the girl when they heard the fall and her whimpers but the reindeer had quickly rocked some of them in the ribs and stabbed them right in their eyes when they got too close but one reindeer can only do so much. Bear tried nudging the girl back to sense with a small kick but the girl stayed in her spot with shaking body and loud sobbing. The reindeer grew angrier and agitated as the zombies were persistent in getting a chunk of Venus so he lowered his glorious antlers and stomped it hoof before charging at them. Bear was able to rampage some of them to death but he was taken off guard from the zombies that had escaped his deadly horns and was running straight for the weak crying girl.

Bear stomped his feet and grunted but before he could charge and kill those zombies, three arrows pierced through each of their rotten heads, causing them to die right then and there. The drop of the dead zombies in front of her made Venus slowly glanced up with her last string of strength. Her blurry vision couldn't make out the situation she was in and her brain was beginning to lose all senses but one thing for sure, her heart thumped a beat that made her called out with her last breath of hope.
