I knew nothing of love, but I knew how I felt about him. I thought that love was something magical. "Nothing could go wrong," I thought on our wedding night. Only to wake up one morning to his screaming voice ordering me around. Telling me that I was his property and I had no voice. He constantly threatened me, but I fearfully obeyed. See, divorce is never an option, to be divorced was no better than whoring yourself around. It was better to die, than end a marriage. You were looked at as a disappointment to your family, and whispers were heard as you walked by. "There goes the woman who can't satisfy her husband." One woman would say and the others would laugh like little school girls. Putrid things were said about the divorced women. I wasn't going to end up like them. Anyway he'd never hurt me if I obeyed. I married one of the many men who wore seductive masks to lure in their prey. I fell for his false love and trapped myself in a pit of yelling and being an obedient wife. I felt broken..and depressed at times, but I hoped that times would change.
