"Unnie, there's a phone for you!"
Haru sensed her sister running over to her and she took the phone from her hands.
"Yeoboseyo?" she asked and the caller responded, "Hello, is this Ms. Min Harum Yeon?"
Haru nodded and then confirmed her identity.
"Okay Miss, I'm calling from the Seoul International Clinic, Yongsan-gu. I'm calling to ask you if you wanted to continue with your surgery next month," the caller said and Haru sighed as if she'd expected to receive such a call.
In fact, she surely did expect to.
"Yeah, I'll ask my sister to book an appointment next month. Thank you," she said and the caller greeted her a good day and ended the call.
She sighed and rest her head back onto the couch. Her sister walked into the living room holding two cups of coffee. Haru felt the couch sink down next to her, and she understood her sister had sat down beside her.
"Here you go, unnie! Have some hot coffee, it'll help with the stress," her sister said and handed her the coffee mug. She smiled in her supposed direction and took the mug from her hands.
"I'm sorry you have to go through all this, unnie. I really wish there was another way," her sister whispered as she lay her head on Haru's shoulder.
She sighed and shook her head.
"It'll be fine, Soo. It'll all be fine!" she answered back, in almost a cracked whisper.
She told herself she'll be fine. Cause that's all a blind girl can do to convince herself that everything will be fine, and that she'll be alright.
And she was blind.
