Life Nowadays

In the times of this pandemic,
The life on the streets is dull,
The blooming markets vacant,
And the town square frozen in time.

The noisy schools give lessons to none,
The churches sing to void halls,
And in the green gardens of paradise,
The swings only play with the wind.

Will the playgrounds have no merry children?
Will the erudite schools be bare?
Will the markets sell no merchandise?
Will this time never pass?

Alas, there's no antidote
To this miserable malady,
Only time will pave the path,
The path to a lucid life.
