Last Escape

--

Wow. Is this the new way to say hi?

I looked at him with dizzy but sharp eyes. "Well, hello to you, too," bati ko saka napangisi nang lalong tumindi ang galit sa mukha niya.

He was about to slap me hard again for the second time this minute but my mom was fast to stop him. "Teo! Anak mo 'yan!"

Oh? Am I? Lol. I can't feel it. Ask my DNA, maybe, even she can't feel it too.

I guess, Jack Daniel's and Cuervos weren't enough, eh? Yea, I'll just remind myself next time to drink more.

I was about to walk to my room when, again, he pulled my hair hard. Real hard. But, thanks to the alcohol because I am not able to feel the pain to its extent, but I can hear my scalp's yelling, 'hey, you old man! Stop that shit!'

Unfortunately, due to the alcohol's effect on me, I slammed on the floor and my head hit the wooden chair's feet.

I held my head and saw its blood transferred to my fingers. If it weren't for the alcohol's effect, I must be in real pain right now. Thanks again my friends. You're the best.

"Teo!

A smirk got its way out to my lips when I heard his words. "Hey, but you raised me well," natatawang sagot ko dahilan para higitin niya ang kwelyo ng damit ko at mahigpit na hinawakan ang mukha ko. I can feel my face distorts because of his tight grip.

"And that was our biggest mistake and regret in our life. We raised a rebel bimbo."

"Teo!

Bimbo. So, yesterday, I was a stupid cunt and now, I am a freaking bimbo. What's the difference, anyway?

Marahas niya akong binitawan at itinulak. Puro lalaki! Siya lang ang babae!"

Oh, I remember that. I was with my crazy but nice guys at that fastfood. We went straight to that fastfood after we polished our band practice. Yea, and that is something he doesn't know because he's stupid enough.

"And that made you conclude that I'm an unworthy lady?" I questioned him and flashed my faint smile.

"What was your job again? Ah. A taxi driver. Who owns the car you drive? Ah, your batchmate whose grades were full of four's and five's."

"But look at you. You were the dean's lister. You got the highest latin's award during your college. You even aced your board exam. But look where are you now."

It was not my intention to belittle him and his job. Trust me. It is not. I just want to prove something he can't comprehend.

"They are my bandmates, you must not know." "If I'm a bimbo, then you're a failure."

"I remember you told me, when I was still a kid, you wanted to be an artist. A paintor, isn't it? But you were forced by your father to take MedTech instead. You aced every single test but you were never happy. You were stolen the chance to catch your dreams, and I guess that was one of the reasons why you end up and stuck with a job you never imagined you would. You were a failure. A failure. And now, you are making me as one. I'm the song writer and vocalist of our band, Dad. You didn't know, of course. You won't know because you were never a father to me, because you were the marshal of this house and I was just your prisoner."

Before he could even let his hand land on my face, I already made my way out of the scene and went inside my room. I turned my big speakers on and extend their volumes on its maximum level. I connected it to my phone and played it in shuffle.

I sitted on the floor and leaned on my bed's foot.

This screams peace.

I just want to shut and block them out. This is my escape. This is my great escape.

And maybe, this would be my last escape.
