Cassie glanced up at us just as the front door opened, curtesy of Elton. He moved to the side, allowing Mike to walk in ahead of two figures I couldn't make out for a second.

One of them was a pale guy with blonde hair and blue eyes and fucking angel wings, whilst the other was a shorter girl with bright blue hair. They walked only to about the middle of the room whilst Mike joined on to one of the lines of demons, and Corey and Kevin walked either side of the throne.

This was intense. From the tension in the room to the way Colby was staring at the angel in front of him.

The angel's eyes were travelling around the room, scanning every single face until eventually he landed on mine, and he frowned for a moment. I purposely didn't react, hoping he'd forget about the fact that he'd never seen me before, but his head snapped to Colby.

"You have someone new here."

"That's none of your business," Colby replied instantly without even a breath to spare. "We are busy down here so make it quick."

After a long moment, the angel pulled his girl closer to his side. "You can put down your defences, I'm not going to attack."

"It's not you we're worried about," Cassie snapped back with a glare.

The girl lowered her head guiltily, which made my stomach twist. I wanted so badly to learn the story, to know what had happened. She felt ashamed of something she had done, I just couldn't figure out what.

"Neither of us are here to attack. We just need to speak about God and his next plan." Nobody else spoke or moved, so the angel continued, "He wants to do something that we don't agree with so we want to tell you before anything actually happens."

"We don't want you to be caught off guard," the girl agreed.

"All we can tell you for certain is that he's going to be coming here and he does not mean well, no matter what he says to you."

"We never let our guard down in hell, Sam. That's how you get your back stabbed," Colby replied slowly.

Sam... Sam, why did I know that name? I had been told it multiple times before, I was sure of it. The more I looked between them - the tension and the broken brotherhood - the more I realised who Sam the angel really was: the friendship that didn't end well for Colby and ended with him being sent down to hell to rule, as well as left alone for centuries.

"God will be visiting within the next two weeks, so be ready." Sam turned around, prepared to leave when Corey and Kevin flashed into his way. He looked back at Colby, who looked a little like he wanted to kill him, but he was mostly holding back.

Instead of giving the order right there and then, he stood from the throne and walked down the step. Only when he was right in front of Sam and his girl did he stop.

"The next time you come to hell uninvited" - his voice was sharp and cold - "you won't be leaving."

The two guys had a mini stare off for much too long, glaring at each other until Sam stepped down, backing up.

"We'll let you know upon our next visit, then," Sam said quietly. He pulled his girl tightly by his side as he turned around and headed for the door. Kevin and Corey let them pass, but they followed close behind with Elton going along, too, shutting the door.

I couldn't see Colby's face, but somehow I knew that he felt a little hurt, and I wanted to help him. He turned and went up the stairs at the speed of lightning before going to his room and slamming his door so loud that it echoed through the entire house. I noticed demons flashing out until there was only Jake and Xepher left.
