Charlie Bennett

Sitting in my room with the door locked. No one is home right now. I roll up a dollar and sniff a line off of the journal. I wiped my nose and sniffed a couple of times. I take a deep breath and then sit up.

I grab my black hoodie and slipped that on. I walked to the door but then my mind went black.

Flashback Charlie V/O

"Charlie! Eat your food baby girl" dad says

"I don't wanna!" I say to him

"Charlie sweetheart. Please" mom says

I look at her and started to bust out crying. I kick my feet and run to my arm. I back against the wall sliding down and bringing my knees to me.

I look around my pink and purple room. 6 year old me would always be weird with certain things.

I was fucking mental.

My Dad appeared in my room. He looks down at me and gives a sad smile.

"Okay sweetie, what's up with you hm?" He asks sliding down the wall next to me

"I don't feel right I feel....depressed, " I say

"Your 9. How do you know what depression is"

"Riley...she has this book and I read it and it had al these symptoms and all my symptoms matched with depression."

"Why are you depressed?" He asked me

"I'm not like those other kids daddy, you and mom don't understand me."

"Well honey, I think it's best if mommy and I take you somewhere where someone can listen to you. I'm willing to hear everything you wanna talk about. I'll be here always."

Flashback over

I open my eyes. I look around and open the door seeing my mom standing in front of me with a capsule.

"The fuck is that?"

"One: Watch your mother. Two: this is a Drug test"

"Huh?"

She slides past me into my room and places it on my dresser "you have two days to take that if it's not done by Wednesday imma take you to the doctor and they will force you to get it done"

"What do I need a drug test for?"

"The rehab center recommended it. Remember just cause your out the system doesn't mean you have to stop the routine baby. Now, you gonna pee in that cup every two weeks and if your drug-free your perfectly fine"

"But....you don't trust me?"

"Of course I trust you honey" she moves a piece of hair out my face "you have something to hide?"
