You sat down on the bed, the coils pressed under your exhausted frame. You gazed at your phone again, your mind focused on two choices. How long would you sit here like this? How long will you allow this feeling to consume you? You sighed and in that moment decided. Doing nothing out of fear hasn't gotten you anything at this point. Next thing you knew your phone was close to your ear and you were waiting for him to pick up.
"Hello?"
"Who is this?"
You hesitated, "... It's (y/n).. th-the (gender) from yesterday? Is this Connor?"
"Yes, I'm pleased you called, I was worried you wouldn't."
You bit your lip, "Yeah, I'm sorry for taking so long, I just didn't know if I was going to be able to speak about what happened."
There was pause,
"I understand that what you went through was extremely traumatic. I hope it will help you to know that I will make this process as comfortable as possible. My partner has made it known to me that you trust androids more than humans, is this correct?"
"...yes"
Your voice was quiet, you were fearful if you spoke any louder you would break down and cry.
"Perhaps we can continue this conversation in person? It would make it easier for me to provide the right resources for your recovery." Connor stated.
"Yes, thank you."
"No, thank you, you speaking on this matter will save lives."
Sweat on your palms was forming, "Where should we meet?"
The kind android took a moment to think, "If you're comfortable, I think it would be best to speak at the safety of your home, I can find local coffee shops in your area if not. You did say you enjoy coffee when we first met."
He said matter of factly.
"My house should be fine."
"Do you think you would be ready by 11 am?"
For someone who didn't sleep he sure seemed accommodating for someone who needs to sleep in.
"Yes."
Your voice was hoarse but a bit less shaky, Connor was glad, for this would be beneficial to the case but, he felt more relief than just that.
"Perfect, I will see you then. Would you like me to bring anything?"
You smiled, "You don't have to do that."
"I assure you it would be my pleasure. I'm always available if you change your mind."
You could almost imagine his polite, charming smile, just by hearing his voice,
"Thank you, see you tomorrow then."
"See you tomorrow."
[Call Ended]
You finally did it. You fully lied down on your bed and looked up to the ceiling. Maybe life really could change for the better?
