Sleek, shimmering scales reflected the summer sun above the crystal clear water. Sapphire and teal in a beautiful pattern that made them seem to blend together, dazzling anyone who would look. If they could, that is. Swimming deeper into the water, making his long black hair flow behind him with the force of the underwater waves. The force of the beautifully scaled tail kicking up grains of cream-colored sand, the particles swirling through the water.
As the sun began to sink below the horizon, two hands emerged from the water and gripped the rock that lined the shore. He pushed himself out of the water, sighing as he dragged himself away from the soothing blue water and began to dry off with the towel he'd set aside. As the last drop of water was wiped away, the strange glimmering scales retracted into his legs. He pulled his clothes on once again, standing up and walking from the setting sun on the horizon to his home.
