You see, Izuku Midoriya, better known to the public as Deku, isn't a complicated individual. His habits, while annoying, are easy enough to understand what spawns them and what gets him out of it. In hero work, his main priority is always civilian safety. He doesn't have much of a taste palette, and will eat anything you set in front of him. His interests aren't entirely unknown to everyone, and his personality is probably the easiest to decipher: he's a confident and friendly individual that subconsciously makes everyone fall in love with him. As that name implies, Izuku Midoriya isn't boring, and being around him generally improves one's health and lifespan.

But he wasn't always like that. There was a time when he was a stuttering mess that shied away from confrontation and flinched at every little nudge in his direction. At that point his life, Izuku Midoriya didn't have the quirk that the world praised him for. He was quirkless, and with the world treating him as defenseless, Midoriya believed himself to be completely powerless. All that he had in that stage of his adolescence was an unwavering desire to be a hero and self sacrificing mindset that often placed a target on his back. His childhood best friend (who Midoriya could later say wasn't exactly a friend), would bully him for something as trivial as genetics. Midoriya didn't fight back, not until he got a quirk and got into a top heroing school in Japan, and even then, he wasn't all that into the fighting for himself. Midoriya grew thick skin, and eventually moved past the chains that held him back. That took years, but Midoriya managed it, becoming who he was today.

Now, it has been mentioned that Midoriya is someone to sacrifice himself for another person, definitely for a group, and in a heartbeat for the majority. Today wasn't any different. When he turned on the news to see the city being bombed, Midoriya debated whether he should help or not. The coverage said that the heroes had it under control, and he surely would be fired if he went against his manager's wishes for him to have the day off. Midoriya choked on his water as he scrambled to put his hero costume on, half heartedly jumping around to speed up the process. With the costume on, Midoriya waited patiently, watching the news with wide eyes and a shaking water bottle in hand.

His phone went off, making Midoriya jump in surprise. He desperately looked at the Caller ID seeing the words 'Shark Boy And Lava Girl' with a picture of Kirishima sticking his tongue out at the camera while Bakugo blew something up behind Kirishima. Midoriya gave a chuckle at the name before answering the call, trying not to sound so joyful when he said, "Hello?"

"Hey, Bro! I'm not sure if you saw, but we're doing damage control cause someone blew up the library. The villains been put away, but civilians got injured in the struggle. I know you're off right now, but-" Kirishima started off with his masculine but light hearted tone. There was the sound of an explosion as Kirishima yelled, "Hey! Bro! Stop!" Whoever the 'Bro' was didn't stop as the sound of someone snatching something filled the phone's audio. Midoriya only sighed as a familiar voice filtered through the device, "Deku!!!!!" Midoriya moved the phone away from his ear with a painful intake of breath. The screaming continued, "Get your ass down here, you damn nerd!"
