Ian's POV
I woke up and got dressed for school. Looking at my calendar it said it was my 16th birthday. I was excited/nervous. Today was the day I was gonna confess my feelings to (y/n). Who I've had a crush on since I met her at middle School.
I grabbed my backpack ready to go and went downstairs.
Me: Morning mom!
Suddenly blazey came running out of the kitchen and jumped onto me.
Mom: Oh Blazey down! Bad dragon! Back to your lair! Happy birthday mister adult man!
She began kissing my cheeks.
Me: Oh mom!
Mom: Hey buddy don't wipe off my kisses!

After that crazy morning. I came to school. I had talked to a guy that knew my dad and I was ready to be bold just like him. But that was harder than I expected. Nothing had been going my way all day!
It was at the end of the day. When I was going to invite some kids to my party.
Me: Oh hey I'm having a party tonight. And I was wondering if you wanted to get down on some cake. Ugh that's not something anyone would say. Ok don't say dudes. Gang?
I wrote that down on my hand.
Me: what's up gang!?
I took a deep breath and walked over. I was about to say something. When (y/n) walked over to the group. I could've sworn my heart was about to leap out of my chest. Oh gods. I don't know if I can do this. Be bold Ian. Just like dad
Me: Hey what's up gang
Sadalia: oh Ian right?
Me: Oh I didn't know you knew my uh!
I looked down at my hand. Everything was smeared on my hand.
Me: uh if you like party's. Then I was gonna do one
You: What?
Me: What I'm saying is if your not doing anything which I'm you probably are doing something and you like cake. Like I like cake. I got a cake at my house
Sadalia: Are you inviting us to a party?
Me: That's the one!
Sadalia: Oh yeah we don't have any plans.
All of her friends nod in agreement and (y/n) giggled. Gathering up every ounce of courage I had I said
Me: And (y/n) I was wondering if you would like to....
Before I could say anything else. There was the sound of screeching tires and my brother yelling.
Barley: Haha! Is that the birthday boy I see! Behold your chariot awaits!
A cyclops said (I don't know her name!)
Cyclops: do you know that guy?
Barley: Sir Iandore of Lightfoot!
Cyclops: Seems like he's talking to you
Barley: Hey Ian! (Honks horn)
I finally gave in and turned around to Barley.
Me: Hey Barley! Yeah we were gonna actually take the bus!
Barley: The bus! Nay! (draws toy sword)
I will give you and your companions transport upon Guinevere!
Troll: Uh whose Guinevere?
Barley: My mighty sted. Oh that's embarrassing!
I facepalmed. This is embarrassing especially in front of (y/n). I turned to them
Me: He's just joking around
Sadalia: Uh you got something on your face
I tried wiping it off until I looked at my hand.
Me: Oh I just remembered that my birthday is a uh cancelled!
You: what? What do you mean Ian? What were you about to ask me?
Me: I mean the party it was never happening it was just this huge misunderstanding. I got to go bye!
I went in Guinevere. Of course Barley being Barley asked
Barley: Hey did those kids write on your face? Here I got it
Me: can we please just go home?
Barley: Ok we'll perform your birthday ceremony later.
I didn't listen to what he said next. Next thing I know we were home and I went up to my room. I sat down and started crossing things off my list.

Why couldn't I just tell her how I felt? Why does love have to be so hard?! I pulled out my phone and started looking at pictures we took together. Some were goofy. I stopped at one where I got kinda bold and kissed (y/n) on the cheek. I sighed
Me: I love you but I don't know how to tell you. Do you even love me back?
