The soccer practice area was always occupied by kids who wanted to either improve their football skills or watch the football team exercise, as for now the practice area was empty except for the presence of two preteens ; Endou and [Y/N].
The brown haired boy is practicing his football moves as usual, making sure to train all his abilities, from shooting to dribbling and from dribbling to juggling, anything he believed essential to improve he'd do it.
As his friend is sitting on a bench not too far away from him, admiring as he was dribbling with the ball. [Y/N] stared at all his moves in awe, even if she had to see him play everyday, his skills never failed to amaze her. She knew him even before the start of his soccer career and had the opportunity to see him improve within months thanks to his will and non stop exercises.
Endou was full of determination and ambition, he gave his everything in every single match, even when everyone gave up, he was there to motivate and encourage them. Those amazing qualities of his amazed [Y/N], she never were the type to give all her will to succeed at something as she considered useless. She believed that no matter what she'd try to do, her efforts would go to waste in the end and so because of that, she never really got to try new hobbies or anything new in general.
She decided to stick to her monotonous life and old habits which caused her to loose motivation in her daily life. The lack of excitement made her feel empty, something felt wrong but she knew it, she tried to fill her schedule with occupations she was familiar with in hope of filling the void but sadly it didn't work at all, her actions had the same energy as painting a vase even though it's broken and had to be glued together instead.
And so her sadness only grew bigger which caused her to also have a negative mindset and just like that she ended up drowning in this ocean of bitter feelings. She slowly lost will of keeping up with her regular life, everything she did felt like a chore, even the things that used to make her happy now made her feel sick and tired. She couldn't even bother to try new things as her motivation was too low to the point where the simplest tasks like getting out of bed demanded too much energy for her. Just like that she was stuck in this depressing loop that never seemed to end.
People around her noticed the change in her behavior but brushed it off believing it was just a normal thing kids would go through in puberty and didn't bother asking her what was wrong, luckily for [Y/N] her friend, Endou, noticed too and decided to do something about it and so he made sure to include her in all his plans in hope to make her feel better or at least help her fix what now became to be her sad daily life.
Endou kept the promise he made to himself and spent as much time as he could with [Y/N], at the very beginning she seemed annoyed by the fact that he kept pushing her into trying new things as she felt too mentally tired to bother with such things but in the end she gave in and tried to participate in the same activities as him. After good amount of patience from Endou and enough will from [Y/N], her life soon felt slightly happier, not at at one hundred percent but at least she didn't felt like trash when she woke up but that wasn't the end of Endou's plab, he promised that he'll do everything in his power to make her feel happy, happier than she ever was and so he didn't give up just yet, which brings us to this exact moment ; Endou trying to bring her almost everywhere even to his after school soccer training in hope of showing her how interesting and nice life can be if you look on the bright side of it.
Endou felt [Y/N] gazing at him for awhile now and stopped in the middle of his training to check up on her. He juggled with the ball one more time before shooting it slightly in the air enough for him to catch it with his hands without any effort as he started walking towards [Y/N]. The closer he was getting to her the more anxious she felt, many thoughts were rushing through her head, many if's and why's were thrown here and there, many things like " What if he thinks I'm too clingy for following him everywhere, " were flooding her mind as she was completely forgetting that it was Endou who desperately wanted her around but her anxiety was trying to prove her otherwise. The sound of his dirty sneakers stepping on the sand stopped as he arrived at the bench.
She quickly turned facing in his direct as he sat down next to her, gripping at the end of her shirt out of embarrassment, hoping her facial expression wasn't making it visible that she felt nervous. He opened his mouth to finally speak "I noticed you were staring at me while I was playing," he mentioned while tapping the soccer ball indicating he was playing with the soccer ball when he noticed her gaze then proceed to continue the rest of his sentence," I was wondering if you wanted to give it a shot? Since you looked pretty intrigued by my skills. " he chuckled at the end of his phrase. His laugh was so awfully intoxicating that [Y/N] slightly smiled immediately at it sight. She released her shirt's end from her grasp to give a shaky thumbs up "S-sure," she murmured in response. She was glad at the fact that he didn't consider any deeper meaning based of her actions, today isn't the day where I'll confess my love to him, not today Satan, she thought.
" Alright, let me show you few tricks then! " he smiled as he sat up and offered his hand out for [Y/N]. She glanced at him before smiling and grabbing his hand forgetting completely about her anxiety in the process. They both sat up and started running to the middle of the field to practice random football moves.

Requested by inazumaeleven88 (I decided to give the reader a little more personality than just being pessimistic, hope y'a don't mind.) Hi hi I'm finally back whoohoo :)) So as you could see I decided to get rid of the old banner because I got bored of it and made another one plus I changed both my writing style and writing aesthetic lol so hope y'all like it. I also had to rewrite this since I didn't like how the first attempt looked like plus it was awfully long (around 1600+ words and I wasn't even at half of the fanfic like bruh 😭). I know I don't update alot but I'm either going through writer block or I'm just lazy so please bear with me lmao. Anyways that's all for now so see ya in the next chapter. 😸👍
