Change(part 3)

**at lunch
Cheryl: Betty over here
Betty: I'm coming

Betty's POV: I looked around me and everything looked different. Of course it was, everyone was waking on eggshells. Riverdale wasn't the same town it had been. Just then I spot Archie and... Veronica. My heart sinks. Why are my best friend and my ex boyfriend sitting at lunch together. When Toni comes over I snap back to reality

Toni: hey Betty you ready to eat lunch
Betty: yeah let's go

Betty's POV: I look over my shoulder once and I see her head resting on his shoulder. Are they dating? Why didn't she tell me? Then I think, I haven't exactly been the most emotionally available person. But I would still like to think she's my best friend. I mean maybe she isn't, I have spent more time with Toni and Cheryl then my group of friends

*jughead shows up
Jughead: mind if I sit with you
Betty: I'm sure that's fine with them *looks at Cheryl and Toni kissing*
Jughead: it seems to me like they don't really mind*sits down next to betty
Betty*shifts uncomfortably*
Jughead: I'm sorry I can sit farther if you want
Betty: no it's fine, it's just like I have this invisible bubble around me or like a force field
Jughead: well I'm obviously able to penetrate it*wraps his arm around her shoulders*
Betty*smiles*
Jughead: you know you have a great smile, you should use it more often. It looks good on you

Betty's POV: I'm pretty sure this is the closest people have come to me in months. Even with Cheryl this morning, I grab her hand and then once I was up, I let go. Toni guided me over here but she wasn't close to me. Jughead is literally so close that I can feel his body heat radiating through his clothes

Jughead: So Betty I was thinking that we could catch a movie tonight as well
Betty*turns to him* that sounds great!
Jughead: you seem awful chipper all the sudden
Betty: thank you
Jughead: for what?
Betty: for being nice to me. Everyone is either treating me special or acting like I shouldn't exist
Jughead: well your special to me
Betty*bites lip* you know what I mean
Jughead: yeah I do and *takes her hand* I want you to know you belong here. You can't always control what happens to you but you have to believe something good will come out of it
Betty: your too sweet
Jughead: I get that a lot *chuckles*

Betty's POV: oh my god his laugh. I could get lost in his eyes and he's so sweet. I can't believe I'm actually looking forward too tonight. Being this close to someone, being so personal. It's scary to let someone in but I want so badly too let him in

Jughead's POV: I look over at betty and she looks lost in thought. She looks beautiful, gorgeous even when she is thinking, or smiling. Hell even when she was crying she looked beautiful. That's not everything I like about her though. She's smart, an amazing writer. So also talented and kind. I can just tell she's kind, it takes a lot when you've been hurt
