New Beginning

5: A Rainy Day

* Addison's POV*
Today Meredith and I were woken up by the sound of the rain. We got up and ate breakfast and now we are cuddling up on the couch with a blanket.

"You know I have a cat?" I mentioned out of the blue.

"Really?!"

"Yeah. A patient gave it to me to take care of, but then she passed away." I looked down at her where she had her head lying on my lap.

"Oh! I haven't seen it yet."

"He's probably hiding somewhere. His name is Milo just in case you wanna find him."

"Thanks. Oh! Isn't Henry coming today? I'm excited to meet him." She smiled up at me excitedly.

"Yeah, he is!"

We stayed there on the couch talking and catching up. She told me how a patient attacked her and how she needed many surgeries from it. It made me tear up but she assured me that every was fine. She kept telling all of this stories and I just listened and nodded and threw some comments to let her know I was listening. Every time she mentioned bad that happened to her it just made me want to be there with her to comfort her. She looked up at me right in the eyes.

"Addison, I lo-" A knock interrupted her.

"I think that's Henry!" I smiled excitedly.

Meredith sat up and I got up and walked towards the door and took a breath. After having the little time with Meredith I was filled with joy. I don't want Jake to ruin that, so I put him in a little box and out him aside and opened the door.

"Mamma!." Henry ran over to me and hugged my leg.

"Hi, Henry!" I picked him up and kissed his forehead. "Thanks and bye, Jake." I closed the door in face and walked back to the couch.

"Hi, there!" Meredith waves at Henry and he waved back.

"Henry, this is momma's umm... friend, Meredith."

  I introduced them to each other and we just hanged out. We watched some movies, played games, and just fooled around. Seeing Meredith and Henry get along made my heart flutter and my stomach twirl. This feels good and it makes me happy, but it scares me a bit because I don't want to get hurt again.
