L I A R.
act 2, scene 2

LAS ENCINAS WAS in the middle of Madrid, 2781 miles from the equator. It shouldn't have felt this cold.

Maybe it was pathetic fallacy for all the cruelty of the students inside, but as Inés sat opposite the Inspector for the second time, all she could do was shiver.

Even with a shirt, jumper and blazer, she couldn't stop her teeth chattering. It could have been fear, or her stone heart finely catching up to her.

Maybe that was what happened when she loved someone.

Bad things had to happen to remind her that she was cold inside.

THE TEATRO BARCELÓ wasn't exactly Inés' scene

THE TEATRO BARCELÓ wasn't exactly Inés' scene. She had only been in the club a handful of times, but the way her friends were talking about it - that number was sure to increase over the next year.

Her father reluctantly let her go out, knowing full well the club was renowned for its wealthy frequenters, making it a prime spot for reporters wanting to know more about the elites' social lives. Inés was ready to leave long before her cab arrived, so the extra time was spent on the piano to please her mother, whose endless complaining about her lack of practice was starting to wear thin.

Once she arrived at the club, the line was longer than she had been expecting, but she spotted familiar faces waiting in the cold.

Nadia and Samuel stood out to her first, but the girl they were talking to was one Inés didn't recognise. She could recall seeing her in school for the first time today, and she was sure she wouldn't have forgotten her outrageous style if she wasn't a new student.

"Nadia?" Inés called as she stepped out of the cab and walked over to the three.

"Hola, Inés." The girl greeted kindly, smiling widley though she had barely spoken to her since she first started at Las Encinas. She was quite intimidating when you didn't know her, but that didn't seem to carry to the new girl.
