Part 7

"The party sounds great," you decide, "sorry Kaz."

He grumbles some excuse about having to go and get ready for his trip and leaves for the Slat. You turn to Nina, delighted that you are going to not only see Ravka but go to a Royal ball.

"What do I need to pack?" You say.

"Another outfit like the one your wearing now, a warm coat and any extra things you may want for the boat journey." Replies Nina.

You look down and take in what you dressed in today. A leather jacket that Nina gave you, tight black trousers and a (F/C) polo necked jumper. Not five layers of different clothes that you can take of and use on the weeks long crossing to Ravka. And definitely not a stunning outfit for the ball.

"Uuuuuum, but I can't wear this for the whole journey and definitely not for the ball." you protest.

"Oh,(Y/N)," laughs Nina.

"The journey will only take four days max in my ship." explains Inej.

"And Genya has a whole suite full of outfits that you can use for our stay." adds Nina.

Then you all run of to get your considerably smaller than expected travel bags ready and get comfortable aboard the Wraith.

The journey to Ravka takes two days. Mostly you try to stay out of the way of Inej's crew on deck, watching the sea and chatting to Nina. After you debark the ship, you find that the King has sent a carriage for you. It only takes a day to reach Os Alta and the Grand Palace in its blue velvet interior. When you stumble out, stretching your stiff legs, five girls rush down the marble front steps to greet you.

"Well, I'll do the introductions," says Nina. "Everybody, this is Inej and (Y/N)."

"Hi," says the ginger one, wearing a silk eyepatch and a flowing green dress, who Nina introduces as Genya Safin. "I can't wait to get you in an incredible outfit for tonight.

"Me neither," you say, already liking Genya.

"Couldn't stay away, could you, Nina?" laughs Zoya, who's dark haired and absolutely beautiful. "Although you do seem to have a good taste in friends."

"Agreed," says Nadia, a fabricator who is hanging on to the arm of Tamar, a tall, dangerous looking girl who is not only a heartrender but also wields two deadly looking hand axes.

"And this," Nina finishes, "is Alina."

"Hey," says the white haired girl.

"As in Sankta Alina?"asks Inej breathlessly.

"Yup, although I lost my powers when I destroyed the Shadow Fold."

"Wow, I named my knife after you," garbles Inej.

"Ine-ej," you whisper, elbowing her lightly.

"Right, ok," she says, pulling herself together.

"During the stay, you should call me Ciana because everybody thinks I'm dead and I'll be in disguise."

"That sounds complicated," comments Nina.

"Well I couldn't miss the party!" Laughs Alina/Ciana.

"Come on, I've been looking forward to get you all dressed for weeks."

Genya's wardrobe is huge, it's full of dresses, suits, shoes, jewellery, hairpieces and even make up tables complete with nail polish. 

"Now, what look do you want?" Genya squeals.

A simple suit would be perfect = PART 7A
