There was going to be a rumble tonight. You were going of course. You were the only greaser girl there, but you didn't mind. You were strong and a good person to have in a rumble. You fought in a few rumbles here and there. But you hadn't fought in a year or two. It was because you've gotten injured in the last one. You missed the thrill of beating up those damn Socs. You wanted to teach them a lesson.
It was sunset and it was almost time before the rumble. You put on clothes that you could easily move in. A plain shirt and jeans. You tied your greased up hair out of the way and into a bun so they couldn't grab your hair.
You looked at the mirror. You nodded and smiled. You were ready.
You saw the other greasers hanging out as you walked to the place.
They knew you and they were glad to see you.
"Ey, Y/N! Haven't seen you in a rumble in forever!" A greaser said.
"Yeah," You chuckled, "I miss beating up those dirty Socs with y'all."
In the corner of your eye, you saw Dallas Winston. He was walking with a gang of greasers. You looked away and tried to think of something else.
You've heard of Dallas. You've even spotted him at Buck's every once in a while and on the streets with his greaser pals. You knew his bad reputation and personality based off of what people said. You actually liked him. He was tough. But you shook it off. You knew Dally wouldn't like you. He's busy chasing chicks and dumping them out on the streets when he's finished, or so you've heard. You couldn't bear to have your heart broken, not again. Your last relationship. You hated yourself for being so naive and sweet. After he left you, you made yourself tough. You never wanted to fall in love again.
"Hey, princess." You heard someone say behind you.
You spun around and saw that it was Dallas. He was looking down at you, smirking.
"Dallas Winston, and don't call me princess." You said, keeping your cool.
"Now, what's a pretty girl like you doing in a rumble?" He asked.
"Oh, I'm just gonna watch and cheer, not gonna do anything here at rumble where y'all supposed to fight each other." You said sarcastically, trying to walk away from him.
"Hey, no need to get testy. We're both on the same team." He said, grabbing your shoulder.
"Look, Dallas Winston. Let me go or I'm gonna beat you harder than I will with those Soc's." You snapped at him, pointing your finger at his face.
His eyes became wide. Then he smirked and cocked one eyebrow.
"I'd like to see you try." He said in a low, teasing voice.
You wanted to hit him then and there, but you wanted to save your energy and strength. You scoffed and shook out of his grasp. You quickly walked away from him and into another group.
All of a sudden, there were cars and shouting in the distance. Everyone fell silent and immediately stopped what they were doing.
The Soc's were here.
Everyone looked at the corner of the street and out came mustangs full of them.
You guys formed a line and only focused on the Socs that were getting closer.
You were in the front. You were a tough and experienced fighter, you knew what you were doing.
One by one, all the Socs climbed out of their mustangs and walked closer to you guys. The looks on their faces getting more serious every step they took.
The odds were pretty much even, there were maybe one or two more Soc's but that didn't matter.
Some of the Socs spotted you and laughed. You didn't react. You didn't care. Because they would soon be crying after facing you.
Everyone was split up into two sides. Greasers and Socs, facing one another. It was silent, with only a few murmurs here and there. No one knew who was going to take the first hit.
Suddenly, you heard a thud and a shout. It started to trigger the fight.
One big guy looked at you and laughed.
"Want to dance, pretty girl?" He teased, looking down at you.
You smiled innocently. Then you quickly punched him in the stomach, hard. He had no time to react. He fell backwards from the sudden force, clutching his stomach and groaning in pain. He was about to get up but you kicked him a few times to make him stay down.
It felt good to be back. Another guy saw what you did and lunged at you. You dodged him and hit him square on the nose.
Dallas just finished a guy when he saw you from a distance. You caught his attention. He was watching you beating up one strong guy after another, you didn't even have a single scratch on you. You looked like you were having the time of your life. Dallas was amazed and surprised by you. You really can fight. He watched your every move and the wide smile across your face. That was when he realized that you were the one. That perfect girl he wanted to spend his entire life with. He knew that you weren't some cheap girl, you were one of a kind.
You looked around and realized that the Socs were starting to retreat. You started to whoop and holler, so did the rest of the greasers. You watched the Socs quickly hopping into their mustangs and driving off, disappearing in the distance.
Dally watched you jump with joy. He enjoyed watching you.
To celebrate, you and some of the guys went to Buck's for a drink.
You were drinking a bottle of beer when you saw Dallas come around a corner. He was shirtless.
You almost spat your beer out.
Geez he's everywhere! You thought.
"Watched you fight at the rumble." He said, pointing at you.
"Stalker." You muttered.
"You were badass out there." He complimented you as he pulled a seat right next to you.
You smiled a bit and blushed.
"I saw that." He pointed out.
You rolled your eyes and laughed, taking another swig of your beer.
"She drinks, too." Dally chuckled, "You old enough to drink?"
"Nope." You said as you pulled out your fake ID and showed it to him.
"Same here, doll." He said, laughing.
You guys chatted and drank together. Dallas was actually a very nice guy to talk to. You found out you both had a lot in common. You got to see the good side that no one talked about. It made you like him more.
Then it clicked, he's different than other guys. Maybe you could give him a chance.
You checked the time on your watch. It was really late.
"Oh, I gotta get going. I have something to do in the morning." You said to him.
"Naw, it's cool." He replied.
You said bye to him and started to walk away.
"Wait!" He suddenly says. You spun around and tilted your head to the side, "Some of the guys and I are gonna catch a movie at the drive-in tomorrow. Like around 8 pm. Wanna be my plus one? I'll buy you a coke, my treat."
"Sure, that sounds great! I'll meet you there." You said with a smile.
"You know, I never caught your name, doll." He said.
"Y/N Y/L/N." You replied.
"Well, it was nice meeting you, Y/N Y/L/N." He said, lightly kissing the your hand.
You felt yourself starting to blush.
"You too, Dallas Winston." You chuckled.
You walked outside of the building and onto the quiet streets.
You couldn't stop thinking of Dallas. It was like a dream. Little did you know that you were going to spend the rest of your life with him.
