"He told you about tomorrow's outing right?" Fareed asked in between chewing his food.
"Yes. You guys should have put that thing on a weekend or Friday. Na because of Charles I dey agree to this. (I'm agreeing to this because of Charles)."
"That's the ko ko. (That's the main reason)." Adam said and the two men laughed.
Demilade shakes his head. They knew he won't agree to it if Charles had not talked him into it.
"What about Bayo?" Fareed asked.
"He already knows about it. Charles called him before he called you. I will call him when I get home too." Demilade replied and they nodded.

Later that day when Demilade returned home, no one came to open the door for him. He guessed Deborah had already fallen asleep while waiting for him.
He isn't blaming her. He is arriving late again. He was busy throughout the rest of the day. After lunch, he had an emergency meeting with the top staff. And he had left work late making necessary and important calls. The traffic had not done any good either. It had been one hectic day.
He brought out his key and opened the door that was already locked. The living room's light was on and Deborah was lying on the floor on the centre rug while Lola was on one of the armchairs. Her hair was almost freed from the buns she pack. She had loose the hair extension on her head.
The two had been busy playing monopoly which cards and charts were still lying on the centre table. There was a little waste bin at the end of the table where they threw empty snacks wrapper that they had probably eaten while playing the game.
He would have left the two ladies but it isn't proper that they sleep in the living room when they have their room.
"Debbie. Lola. Debbie. Lola." He called. Lola shifted. "Lola. Deborah." He called louder than before.
And the two jerk awake, and then scratched their eyes.
"Sir. Welcome." Deborah said standing up. She was still sleepy but at the same time fully alert that her boss was back.
She began to pack the game cards on the table. She tried arranging them in their pack. She was hoping Demilade won't get mad at her. He hates his things not to be in order.
"Debbie leave it. Go and warm Demilade food." Lola said.
She looked up at her and then at Demilade who sat quietly watching them. She shakes her head quite confused. But she stood up and left the room taking Demilade bag with her.
She is grateful he was not angry. His face was blank and bored and also exhausted. No form of anger. And she left for his room, pleased and relieved.
"How was work today?" Lola asked Demilade.
"Okay." Was his simple reply.
She climbed down the chair and she heard Demilade ask. "And yours?"
At first, she didn't seem to believe it until he said it again. He was also looking at her. It was actually the first time he was asking about her day.
"It was fine. And quite fun. Just bored from losing my hair."
The moment she starts talking she can't seem to stop herself. She was just straightforward. She doesn't know how to hide her feelings. Demilade thought.
