Brooklyn Routledge, the younger twin sister of John B Routledge finds herself torn between falling in love and protecting her brother from the dangers ahead of him.

For months, she's cried over her father. For months, she's longed to call someone her own. And for months, she's been hoping to feel less lonely. Thankfully, summer was on its way and she had never been more grateful for the summer season, laughing with her brother and her friends. However, this was her first summer without her father and she couldn't help but stare out at boat, praying that he would come home. But he never does.

When summer is supposed to be the most fun moment of her life, it turns out to be quite the opposite and Brooklyn isn't sure how she even makes it to the end.
