And Lola nodded. It was nice knowing a little about Demilade. It helped her see him as another person except for the rich man. And she will ensure that she did not forget the details about what he doesn't like.

Later that day when Demilade returned he went to Lola's room. He knocked on the door and it took a while before she came to open the door.

She was wearing jeans and a pink blouse. And she doesn't look pleased to see him at all. She stood at the door.

"Can I come in?" Demilade asked politely.

She looked at him and she debated about letting him into her room. But she agreed to let him so she nodded and opened the door wide and she walked back into the room. She took a seat on the bed.

Demilade followed after her. And he noticed she was watching a movie.

"I came to apologize. I am sorry for what I said the other day. It was wrong of me." He said calmly. He wasn't rude like he used to be. "And I bought you something."

"I didn't ask for a gift." She said.

He sighed quietly but continued. "I'm not trying to buy your forgiveness. But I want you to know that I am sorry."

Lola looked at him and he looked sincere about the apology.

"Alright. Apology accepted. You can drop the gift on the table." She said.

"Thanks." He muttered and he went to drop the gift box on the dressing table. And then walked out of the room.

He exhaled loudly when he was out of the room. He was not used to apologizing. It took all the willpower in him to do it. And it was mostly because his mother asked him to and Lola had been nice to his mother. Keeping her company when he is away at work. He owes her that much.

Lola listened to make sure that Demilade was gone. When she heard residing footsteps she stands up and went to the dressing table to take the gift that Demilade had bought. She was curious to know what is in it.

She took it in her hand and she looked at it, thinking about what might be inside the box. She went back to her bed and tore the wrapper before opening the box. Inside was a gold necklace with earrings. It has little diamonds that reflect the light in the room.

Her mouth stood wide open. Without anyone telling her she knows it was expensive. Why did he have to buy such an expensive gift to apologize? She asked herself.

She takes her phone and called her friend on WhatsApp for a video call.

Ibukun answered almost immediately.

"Hey, girl. Why have you not been online since morning?" She asked.

"I had been busy."

"Doing what? I thought you said there is nothing to do in that house." Ibukun said.

"Demilade mother is around and I have to be with her and entertain her." She answered.

"Oh! Is it the nice mother that isn't like her son?"

"Yes na. You no dey forget anything (you don't forget anything). But that is not why I called you." Lola said.

"So what is it? Did Mr arrogant Billionaire do something again?" She asked teasingly.

"Shut up IB. Look." Lola said and she showed her Demilade gift.

She needs to confirm the worth of the gift and Ibukun is the right person to ask. She knows a lot about diamonds and Jewelries.

"Oh, God! Who gave you that? Is it Mr Billionaire?"

"Yes. He came to apologize and he gave me this now. I want to ask how much it is worth."

"I saw this exact necklace three days ago on Instagram. It's Nine hundred and fifty thousand." Ibukun replied shocked.

"What? 950,000. For just a necklace? Where did I want to wear it and go? I can't let thieves follow me around."

Ibukun asked. "What do you mean?" Ibukun asked.

"I'm returning it IB. I can't accept this. It is too expensive. What do I want to do with a necklace as expensive as this? Thieves can follow me around for this. I can't put myself into trouble. He should return it."

"Do you think he would do that? He has pride and that money means nothing to him."

"Well, that is his problem. I'm returning it. He should find something to do with it." Lola said determined.

"If you say so."

"Okay. I just wanted to confirm. Thanks. Goodnight."

"Goodnight. Call you tomorrow." She said.

"Alright." She said and end the call.

She sighed and dropped the gift beside her bed. She was surely returning the gift. She can't accept it.

She turned off the TV and went to change cloth into her night dress before going to lie down to sleep.
