"Oh! Thanks for the hint, Debbie." She appreciated it as she put on her gown.
"You aren't wearing makeup?"
"No. I will just apply powder and lipstick. I didn't plan for this and I don't think Mr Arrogant will want me to spend time doing makeup. Not like he cares anyway."
"Both of you are funny. Don't tell him I say that oh." Deborah said.
Lola smiled. "Why would I? Help me zip up." And she came closer and helped her with her zipper.
"Thank you." She appreciated.
"No problem. Let me go back downstairs. I need to serve them something to drink." She said and Lola nodded as she apply powder to her face. While Debbie walks out of the room.
She drew a line with an eyeliner above her eyes and on top of her lower eyelid, then apply lip gloss. She looked at her face in the mirror and it seems okay to her. She put on the flat shoe she had picked and she heaves a sigh before leaving her room.
She went downstairs to the living room to see Demilade visitors. She was surprised to see one of his friends that he introduced to her at the dinner party they went to on Wednesday. He was sitting down with his wife and she was carrying a baby that is probably six or seven months old.
She smiled and approached the couple.
"Good afternoon." She greeted cheerfully.
"Wow! here comes the beautiful girlfriend of my best friend. Good afternoon." Bayo said with a big smile.
Lola looked flushed at the comment.
"Sorry, I keep you guys waiting." She said and she looked at Demilade. He was staring at her quietly. "I think Demmy forgot you were coming." It was sarcastic. And Demilade knows that and she smiled.
"It's no problem." They chorused.
"I like your gown," Helen commented.
"Thank you." Lola appreciated.
"Hope he is treating you well? If he isn't just tell me. I will deal with him." Bayo said.
And Demilade hit him on the arm. And they both laughed.
"Okay," Lola said smiling. "I won't hesitate to do that."
"Good," Bayo said smiling and he glanced at his friend.
Deborah came with a tray containing a bottle of wine, wine glasses and an opener. She drops it on the centre table.
"Should I open it?" She asked.
"Leave it. We will handle it." Demilade said.
She nodded and went away.
"What will you like to eat?" Lola asked.
"We are fine," Helen said.
"No, I will make you something to eat. This is the first time I will be entertaining you. It's no big deal." She said. "I will be back. Excuse me."
She left the room before they could disagree.
"Okay." They chorused, even if she was out of the room already
Joan began to sob and her mother tried to pet her. But the girl won't stop.
"Sorry, she is hungry," Helen said and Demilade shake his head in understanding.
