Prologue

Rome was terrified of storms, he slid lower against the wall and hugged his knees.
"Please stop," he whispered.
He silently wished that his mother would come pick him up earlier today. As other kids got picked up by their parents, he kept looking up to see if his mum had come yet and every time he looked up the more his little 6 year old heart broke. A little boy with round glasses and blonde curls walked up to Rome and sat next to him.
"Hi, I'm Julian," said the little boy, pushing up his glasses.
"I'm Rome," he answered, trying to put a smile on his face.
Then  suddenly Julian put his arms around Rome and pulled him in for a hug.
"This is what my mom does when I'm scared," Julian said quietly.
All Rome could do was hug Julian back and wish the storm away.
"So now we are best friends right?" asked Julian as he pulled away from Rome's embrace.
"Yeah," Rome said, "We are best friends."
The door opened and just like the other times Rome looked up, and this time round it was his mum. He shot up with Julian's hand in his and run across the room to his mother.
"Mum. This is Julian, my best friend," little Rome bounced on the balls of his feet with excitement as he showed off Julian to his mom.
"Hey there Julian, it's nice to meet you," Margo, Rome's mum greeted Julian.
"Nice to meet you too Mrs. Rome's mum, " Julian answered, blushing furiously and trying to hide behind Rome.
They hadn't noticed that Julian's mother, Carla had already gotten there and was watching their little interaction, cooing at the little boys' bonding. She walked over to them and introduced herself to Margo and Rome and even exchanged numbers with Margo. Carla was exited to hear that her boy was the one who approached Rome first, because he was very shy and Rome was now his first friend.
And little did they know how attached they would become.

So there goes the beginning of my first book ever. Hope you like it
