"What book?" Echo asked. He had to keep Morro here as long as possible, he needed him!

"It's a book about ships and how they work, to help us escape. It'll be super quick, I promise." He comforted his so- the young nindroid.

"Mhm." Echo whimpered. He grabbed Morro's arm, panicking. "Please stay." He begged.

Morro's heart twisted. "Just get cozy, okay? I'll be right back, two minutes tops." He promised, leaning down to kiss Echo's forehead.

Echo giggled, laying back down. "Could I read with you?" He asked.

"Sure." Morro replied, then stood to go retrieve his book, leaving Echo laying next to Gizmo.

Echo yawned, thinking about his dad. His real dad, not the man who created him and then left him and Gizmo all alone. Morro. Morro was his dad.

He remembered Morro telling him about how he'd tried to hurt people before, how he'd glossed over when he'd tried to be better, even dying a second time in an attempt to redeem himself! His dad was honest, and kind, but he clearly didn't think he was good. He was good, though. He'd cared for Echo, and he immediately recognized Gizmo as a person. That was more than Echo's creator had done at least half the time. Echo sighed.

Echo had told Gizmo about how Morro could possibly be their dad. Gizmo thought it was a great idea, seeing as he'd been up front and honest from the beginning. He remembered the first time Morro had seen Echo freak out.

Echo sat next to Morro, breath coming in and out slowly. He'd had a panic attack, and Morro had tried to calm him down.

"Echo, calm down!" Morro had pulled Echo into his arms, keeping a hand on his cheek. "Deep breaths, okay? In, out. In, out." He wrapped his other arm around Echo, who was shaking.

Echo grabbed Morro's shirt, trying to breathe like Morro said. He slowly calmed down, and stopped shaking.

"Thanks Morro." Echo said.

"It's nothing, Echo. Anyone would help you." Morro mumbled.

Echo was silent. That wasn't entirely true... He sighed.

Realization and shock appeared on Morro's face. "Oh, Echo I'm sorry! I just forgot for a moment!" He hugged Echo in apology.

"It is fine, Morro." Echo still leaned into the hug, resting a cheek on Morro's ghostly shoulder. "

"If you say so, Ech." Morro sighed. He'd clearly felt guilty, but why?

"I'm back, Echo!" Morro whisper yelled, so he didn't wake Gizmo.

Echo snapped out of his flashback, and looked up at his dad. He smiled softly, yawning. Gosh, how late as it?

Morro chuckled slightly at Echo's yawn. His kid- er, the kid, was too adorable. He floated over to the blanket nest, kneeling next to Echo.

"Hey, sorry I had to go. You good?" He brushed the back of his hand on Echo's forehead.

"Yep!" Echo said, "Let's read now, okay?"

Morro chuckled. "Okay, kid. But go to sleep soon, it's pretty late."

"Alright Dad!" Echo curled up next to Morro, looking at the now open book. Morro barely noticed.

'Dad.' Echo called him Dad again. He should day something. He wanted to, he really did, but he couldn't. Echo deserved better, but Morro seemed to be better. At least to Echo, but he probably had standards as low as 'won't abandon him on an island in the middle of nowhere.' So, basically no standards.

Echo yawned, cuddling up next to Morro, pulling the ghost out of his thoughts. He smiled at the small nindroid, hooking an arm around his shoulders.

"Echo, you look sleepy. You sure you want to stay up?" Morro glanced at him, opening the book.

"Of course! I want to be able to help with the boat!"

"If you say so." He shook his head, sighing. After only 20 minutes, Echo was asleep and breathing evenly.

"Told you." He murmured, running his fingers through Echo's hair. The nindroid only stirred slightly, curling closer to Morro.

He glanced over at Gizmo. He looked so... Small, and alone. He reached over to him, trying to pull him over to where he and Echo were. Gizmo woke up, chirping in annoyance.

"Sorry. I just thought you might want to come over here with us?" Morro apologized. Gizmo was silent for a moment, but eventually beeped out;

"Sounds good."

Morro smiled at his ki- Gizmo, as he rolled over to Morro and Echo. He powered down right next to Morro. Morro put an arm around both of them, book laying forgotten just outside of the blanket nest. Morro yawned, curled around his- no, the young nindroids.

(Ugh this took forever to write! Why do I feel drained so much? It's so annoying. >:( I wish I had energy and ideas during the day like other people.)
