Morro stared at the diagram of the ship, trying to memorize the whole thing. They had to escape, this place was dangerous. There was barely enough spare parts to fix the young nindroids sleeping a floor below when they got broken. That could be lethal.

The obvious solution was to build a seaworthy ship, but that was harder than it seemed. He had limited recourses, given that they were isolated. Morro could only hope Echo and Gizmo survived long enough...

He traced his thumb over the details of the drawing, needing to memorize everything. For the two robotic children as much as himself. If only he could summon his dragon on his own. If only he wasn't so useless! He growled in frustration.

He was tired. He blinked at the realization. Ghosts rarely got tired, and didn't even need to sleep. He decided to go check on the kids, and take a break. He made his way downstairs, and went to the blanket nest he'd made for them. They didn't have beds when he'd first arrived, so he's grouped as many blankets as he could together in an attempt to remedy that.

Echo and Gizmo were curled up together, presumably asleep. Gizmo seemed fine, Morro wasn't even sure he could dream, but Echo was shaking and crying in his sleep.

Morro panicked, and started shaking him awake.

"Echo, wake up!" He cried, sitting up his- the child.

Echo woke up, still crying. He looked up at Morro, innocent golden eyes wide, and whispered, "Please stay. I'm scared for us to be alone again."

"Don't worry, Echo. I'm staying with you two. I'd never leave without you." He pulled the small nindroid into a gentle hug.

Echo buried his face into Morro's chest. Morro winced at the tears, but continued to try and comfort the kid he'd ado- been taking care of.

"Shhh, it'll be okay. I promise I'll stick with you. I couldn't leave either you or your brother, I can't live without you two."

Gizmo powered on, hearing the crying. He rubbed against Echo's leg, chirping in a concerned manner. Morro paused a moment, and lifted the small bot onto his lap.

"I love you two, and I'd never go without you. You know that, right?" He pulled them both in close, attempting to calm them down, so they could go back to sleep. It was late, and they needed rest. And he did care about them. A lot.

Echo had stopped crying and trembling by now. He yawned, lifting up Gizmo. Morro lay them down.

"Goodnight. I love you." He murmured.

"Goodnight, Dad. I love you too." Echo mumbled sleepily. He rolled over slightly, as sleepy smile on his face.

Morro froze. He couldn't be Echo's dad! He'd done horrible things, he'd hurt too many people! Echo and Gizmo deserved better. But they looked to be already asleep. Echo's eyes were closed, and Gizmo's weren't glowing. He decided he could tell them tomorrow, the kids were probably super tired.

"Sweet dreams." He whispered, pulling a blanket over them. He tucked it around Echo and Gizmo, covering their necks. He stood up, and went to go somewhere else to rest, but Echo rolled over. Apparently he hadn't been asleep.

"Dad, could you please stay? In case I get more bad dreams?" He pleaded.

Morro couldn't say no. "Of course. Just let me get something real quick, and I can keep you company." Maybe he could say something about being called Dad while they were reading.

"Okay." He sounded a bit nervous, fiddling with the blanket between his fingers.

"I'm just getting a book, okay? I'll be right back."
