The Second Task

The 24th of February had finally come for the four champions, Today was the day of the second task, everyone gather down by the lake in the stands that had been used for the first task. Y/n stood next to Krum and Fleur wearing black swimming trunks. Out of the corner of his eye he saw potter running fast down from the school shouting "I'm here". Next to Krum who was stretching, "show off" he said under his breath. Y/n looked over to see two of his three best friends waving at his but Draco was nowhere to be seen. He would never ditch on y/n.

There was a whistle and all four of the champions Dived into the water once y/n was in the water he took out his wand and cast the bubblehead charm, a giant bubble formed around his head and y/n let out a gasp of air, he could breath. Y/n started to swim deeper into the lake passing many different types of Weeds, minutes upon minutes went by as y/n search For anything resembling his position, he didn't remember missing anything. He finally got to a sort of underwater town were he expected the Merpeople to be, he was right lots of ugly faces peaked out to watch y/n swim by, he then came to a sort of town square were to y/n horror four bodies were tied up.

He swam as fast as he could he thought he was the only one until he saw a boy with black hair, Harry Potter was already there and Deciding who to take, as y/n got closer he could make out the four bodies, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, a girl with blonde hair probably Fleur's sister and Draco. Obviously the person he had to take was Draco so he shot a spell a the rope and swam up to the surface with him, y/n felt really guilty to leave Hermione but was determined to win for Brandon.

Once he broke the surface Draco gasped for air and the crowd erupted with cheers and y/n and Draco were pulled out the water and wrapped in towels. Fleur Delacour was sat next to Madame Maxime eyes fixed on the water seconds later Krum and Hermione's heads were bobbing on the surface and being dragged out, y/n felt a Sigh of relief escape his which earned him a puzzled look from Draco. A minute pasted then Ron and the little girl we're out the water followed by Harry.

Once everyone had calmed down Ludo Bagman spoke into his wand which had been magical magnified " ladies and gentlemen, We have reached our decision. Mer-chieftainess Murcus Has told us exactly what happened at the bottom of the lake, and we have therefore decided to award marks out of 50 for each of the champions, as follows ... Miss Fleur Delacour, though she demonstrated excellent use of the bubblehead charm, was attacked by Grindylows as she approached her goal, and failed to retrieve her hostage. We award her 25 points" there was an  applause from the stands. Y/n heard her say "I deserved zero" "Mr y/n Rosier, Who also used the bubblehead charm, was first to return with his hostage, though he returned one minute outside the time limit of an hour. Enormous cheers caught y/n by surprise " we therefore award him 47 points." There was a Thunder storm of applause from the Slytherins, y/n couldn't help but smile. "Mr Viktor Krum used an incomplete form of transfiguration, which was nevertheless effective, and was 2nd to return with his hostage. We award him 40 points. Mr Harry Potter used Gillyweed To great affect, he returned last, and well outside the time limit of an hour. However, the Mer-chiefainess informs us that Mr Potter was first to reach the hostage, and that the delay in his return was due to his determination to return all the hostages to safety, not merely his own. Most of the judges feel that this shows moral fibre and merits full marks. However Mr Potter's score is 45 points." This left y/n and Harry tying first place which y/n wasn't the happiest about.

As y/n walked back up to the school, he couldn't help but feel angry, why did he give potter that clue, now they were tying and there was a chance that he could Lose. He really wanted to win for Brandon, he would have to do everything in his power to win in the last task. Anything.
