rosie groaned, pouting as she was dragged across the grass. "do i have to?" she complained, lazily following elise and gedric towards the quidditch field. "yes you have to! maybe you can even meet a boy" elise suggested, causing gedric to let out a displeased sound. "she doesn't need a boy" he protested, a frown on his face as he tightened his grip on her arm "but you still have to come".

"but it's cold, and ged's right, i don't need a boy" rosie huffed out, though still let herself be pulled across the field. gedric rolled his eyes slightly, the edges of his lips tilting upright as he looked at the small hufflepuff. "then take my jumper and stop whining" he said playfully, letting go of her hand for a moment to pull his sweater off. he turned to rosie, grinning widely as she took it, quickly slipping it over her head.

a blush trailed rosie's freckled cheeks as she grasped their hands again "thank you" she mumbled. "it's no worry, i don't need it anyways" gedric responded, trying to act casual, however the fact that the jumper fell near her knees made him want to coo.

they entered the quidditch pitch, yelling goodbyes as elise and rosie headed up to the gryffindor stands. elise always preferred them over the hufflepuffs, though there was no particular reason as to why. the girls giggled to themselves as the hufflepuffs began practicing, both not overly fixated on the practice unless gedric was doing something.

almost out of nowhere, an owl came swooping in, landing on elise's shoulder. the girl let out a curse, glaring at the owls claws, which were now slightly buried into her shoulder. "you could be a bit nicer snowy" she scolded, taking the letter out of the owls beak. elise gasped, bringing a hand to her mouth, before beginning to laugh slightly.

rosie scrunched up her nose, confused as to what exactly got her so worked up. she was about to question it, before elise cut in "i got detention on the first fucking day, and forgot about it. classy, right?" she laughed out, quickly standing up and grabbing her satchel. "i gotta go, she's gonna kill me" she muttered, quickly running down the stands and abandoning the other hufflepuff.

rosie sighed, shaking her head in amusement as she watched elise sprint towards the castle, and wondered how she became friends with her so quickly. the girl yawned, stretching out on the bench a bit and leaning her chin on her hand. she closed her eyes, deciding to just relax as the hufflepuff practice went on, and wait until gedric was done.

the hufflepuff fell in and out of consciousness every few moments, she was rather tired from the night before, along with the hectic-ness of the first day of classes. just as she began to fall asleep again, she heard slight shuffling to her right. the girl slowly opened her eyes, expecting to see gedric there to wake her up, however she was instead met with a pie of unfamiliar, entrancing green eyes.

the girl gasped slightly, sitting up straight at the appearance of the stranger. she blushed deeply, as he was, frankly, one of the most attractive people she'd ever seen. the stranger gave a devious smirk, staring at the girl with a sadistic gleam in his eyes.

"I came to check on you" he explained, his voice much softer than his normal tone. it was somewhat a lie, the boy could tell that she was perfectly fine, he just couldn't hold back from talking to her any longer. "my names tom, tom riddle. and yours little one?" he questioned, his intimidating presence seeming to tower over the flustered girl.

rosie didn't answer immediately, it was as if someone had stolen her voice. she looked down, blushing as she tried to form words, however his aura was overpowering, it left her flabbergasted. "i asked for your name, don't make me ask again darling" tom warmed, his voice now much sterner.

the hufflepuff squeaked slightly, biting her lip "r-rosemary, but rosie's f-f-fine" she murmured. he made her feel as if she was a little girl again, she'd never met someone so dominating. "good girl" tom smirked, glancing over at the quidditch field. he grinned as he noticed a certain copper haired boy glaring at him, chuckling slightly.

"i have to go little one, i'll see you later" he promised, the tall boy beginning his descent down the stairs. his long limbs trailed behind him as he walked back to the castle, a small smirk lining his sharp features. back at the quidditch pitch, gedric was interrogating rosie, and checking for possible injuries on the girl. tom would never hurt her, he didn't want to destroy what was his.
