My first poem is really crappy (true). No meter, but the rhyme is there, although it doesn’t look that good. Later on, I realized how meter makes the poem sound good. Anyway, it’s still a poem, so I included it in my collection. It is about my longing for a true friend, and the emotion of it inspired me to write this poem.

 I

LONGING

In snow, I seek affection

 In shadows, I am falling

 In rain, I seek company

 Inside, I am crumbling

The fires have died in sorrow

 Like embers quelled by tears

 The echoes whispered like knives

That endanger and kill by fear

The ice has chilled my memories

 Cooling them till they’re dead

Then they shatter to a thousand pieces

And leave me with shards instead

I hold out my hand to reach you

To touch the memories of ice

But I long for your frozen presence

And wait till the end of time
