The Monsters Within

Depression

I wake up in the morning, exhausted as always, the monster by my bed awaits me. I slowly sit up and rub my eyes. "Y'know, we don't have to get up, we can stay in bed all day long, there's no use in getting up anyways. Nobody would even notice that you're missing!"

I groan and get out of bed. "You know we can't do that, I have stuff to do." I quickly get changed and walk down to make myself breakfast. "it's not to late to turn around, we can go back to bed! The world is useless, nobody loves you anyways!"

I walk outside, ignoring the monster and nodding at other people as I walk to work, I bump into someone, I quickly apologize and keep walking. "Really? You worthless piece of shit! You can't even walk right? Are you stupid? She hates you now!"

I ignore the monster and arrive at work. I sit at my desk, walk home and sit on the couch, same old things. "C'mon, This sucks, nobody would notice if you were gone, anyways! C'mon just one cut today!" I slowly walk to the bathroom, grabbing a razor blade.

"YES, YES! DO IT!"

I drag the blade slowly across my skin, holding in a scream as I force back a sob

"Do another, NOW!"

I quickly do another

This goes on for a while until i'm covered in blood, I walk and change, then lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. I fall asleep after hours of tossing and turning, I wake up, then decide to just stay in bed, the monster doesn't say anything, he just stares at me, smirking.

I wake up the next day and walk to work, but my boss calls me in today.

"Do you know why you've been called here?"

"No, I do not."

"I'm sorry, but you're fired, grab your things and leave."

I open my mouth to say something but go and pack anyways

"Worthless"

"Fuck up"

"You can't do anything right"

"You should be dead already"

"It would be easier to be dead then living on the streets"

I walk home, walking and grabbing sleeping pills, the last thing I remember is swallowing at least 20, and then....
