I aimlessly stared out the dark tinted windows of the back seat and into the tall evergreen trees whirling past us against the rising sun. I impatiently searched around the black Range Rover to keep my mind occupied and eventually resorted to playing with the window.

"You do realize that if you break the window, Harry's going to break your face, right?" Liam asked from the driver's side.

I took a deep breath trying not to get too irritated. "You do realize that if we don't get there on time, I'll break all your faces right?" I threatened.

"Oh please," Louis snickered from the passenger's seat, rolling is eyes. "Honestly mate, I'd love to see you have a go." He reached for the radio and tuned to his favorite station.
"I found God, on the corner of first and Amistad..." Louis sang along.
"Oh, I hate The Fray. Change the station." Liam demanded and changed it.
"I hear Jerusalem's bells a ringing. Roman Calvary choirs a singing..." "Coldplay's classic." Liam commented jamming out to his favorite band. "You're kidding right? More like overrated. Unlike The Fray, who actually have
talent." Louis said, changing it back.
"Do you know how old The Fray are? Even my Grandmother hates them." Liam
argued, furiously turning the dial.
"Your Grandmother also thinks Hitler's President, therefore she's irrelevant."
Louis said, changing it back.
"No she isn't!" Liam yelled almost losing control of the vehicle.
"Will you both please just shut the hell up and turn off that God damn radio?" I
yelled, losing my patience.
Frightened by my reaction, Liam obediently turned it off but Louis's expression
remained unwavered.
"Make me." Louis stubbornly challenged, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I'm seriously not in the mood for this right now." I said, irritated with his childish
behavior.
"So what are you in the mood for? Huh? Are you in the mood to lose everything
you worked so hard for? To lose the only thing you have left?—"
"Louis..." Liam cautioned, "I don't think that's a good idea."
"No, Liam, he needs to know. Are you willing to lose her?"
"Louis, I care about her! I love her! If something happens I swear to God...I'm
going to jump off a cliff!"
"How high is the cliff? Two inches?" he asked with a stupid smirk on his face.

I knew Louis was just messing with my head and wasn't serious because he was just like my brother. He was trying to distract me from these few hours of painful reality and despite knowing his intentions, I still fell for his trap.
Anger ignited through me, bursting into flames. I was so pissed off by his questions, I was ready to bite his head off.
Before I got the chance to take a proper swing at Louis's head, the truck came to an abrupt halt. Shocked by the unexpected stop, Louis and I both turned to Liam for an answer.
"Shit" he muttered and attempted to start the car again. A few weak cries emitted from the engine, but nothing happened.
"What the fuck happened?" I yelled.
"I don't know. It just...it just won't start." Liam said confused
"Fuck. Fuck Harry. Fuck him to the deepest darkest pits of hell.
"Zayn, calm—" Liam began.
"No just let him get it out of his system. I'd rather he flip shit now than later."
Louis said, cutting Liam off.
We stepped out of the black truck and into the burning afternoon sun. "Where are we?" Louis asked, looking around.
"In the middle of a deserted highway," Liam replied, expertly lifting the hood. "No shit, Sherlock." Louis said, rolling his eyes. "I meant what state."
"I'm assuming the tip of Maryland, so we'll probably be there in another few
hours."
"Well if you would let me drive, we would've been there four hours ago." "In one piece? I highly doubt that."
"Well at least I wouldn't have gotten us stranded in the middle of a fucking
highway."
I slowly tuned out there petty quarrel and whipped out my phone from my back
pocket. I dialed the number I was all too familiar with and patiently waited for someone to answer.
"Hullo?" a thick Irish accent mumbled.
"Where the hell are you?"
"In North Carolina like we have been for the past two days. Where are you?" "Right now, we're stuck in the middle of Route 207 'cause Harry's car is a piece
of shit."
"You broke Harry's car?!" the voice yelled, alarmed.
"Hold your balls, Niall. Liam and Lou are looking at it right now." "We're not making too much progress." Liam said, almost giving up. "Anyways," I continued, "How are things going there?"

"Nothing new, except there's a shit load of people. It's like the Ringling Brothers circus. And then there's this drunk guy and he spilled beer on Harry's tux and—"
"Niall, Niall. I don't care. Just make sure everything is stalled until we get there." "Don't worry mate. You gave us one job. Just trust us."
"I do Niall. I trust you guys with my life. It's just...I don't want her to slip away
too..."
"She won't. She's too smart to let you go—"
"Oh my god! Niall come here!"
"Our plan is successful! No one's going to find out!"
"Shut up you moron! NIALL!!! Help me!"
"Uh oh. Zayn, I need to go."
"What happened? Is she alright?"
"Yeah yeah. I think Harry needs my help. Just hurry up! Bye."
"Wait, Niall!" I yelled but the phone disconnected. "Jackass, hung up on me." I
muttered furiously.
"What happened?" Louis asked.
"I dunno. Harry was yelling and Niall just hung up. I hope everything's alright..." "How's it going Liam?" Louis asked
"Something got stuck in the engine. We might need professional assistance." "URGHHHH!!" I screamed, furiously kicking the tire.
